My name is Travis. I purchased service with Dish Network 17 months ago, directly from Dish, not a local dealer. The rep told me I was able to get MLB Extra Innings, and they had the cheapest service. Last year they were unable to up-hold their end of the bargain, and neither did they this year. Other than not being able to receive this package, the service was excellent. Until now.

I purchased my equipment because it was on PROMOTION at the time. The equipment was $399. The promotion paid me $5 off my monthly bill to help compensate for the cost of the equipment. Not a bad deal I thought.

I am a fair person. So after being lied to the first year, I waited to see if they would get the programming back. Still no MLB Extra Innings this year. Why would they tell me they had it, then not? Why would they let me buy their service, and then think it's ok to not make it right after I was lied to for my money? Oh wait... I know the answer. Money hungry (other words I'm not allowed to type)

I was given the option of a $14 credit onto my service per month to cover the cost of me getting the service elsewhere. I even put in the leg-work to find how much the service would cost from the local cable. After the digital box and the programming, I was looking at an additional $45 monthly from them, not counting the cost of MLB. Hardly a bargain on my end considering I was told I could buy that package from them 17 months ago.

Since the service I purchased from them was not upheld to the details of the sale promised to me, Im requesting to be compensated for this equipment that is of no use to me. Since I am a fair person, and I used the service for 17 months, I feel the $5 per month was paid for already, and I am not entitled to that amount back. Meaning 17 months x $5, is $85 of service of the equipment I used fairly, well almost- still no MLB Extra Innings. Since Im still being fair, $399-$85 is $314. This is the amount Im requesting back due to their lack of upholding the end of the deal they made me when I purchased their service.

Ive received nothing but a run-around at the 888-284-7116 number. I spoke with a Mr. Ashraf who told me he was the highest person I would be talking too. He also told me he couldnt help me. Since I bought the equipment, it was mine to do with what I wished. He told me I could sell it or return it to the business I bought it from. I love the last one. I bought the equipment from them. He did apologize for a representative lying to me to get my business, but still wouldn't do anything about it. W..O..W..

But Im still being fair on this. Ive been more than fair to be honest and I want this made right. I always try and do the right thing hoping others will as well. I even expected to go back to Dish Network after they were able to get the MLB programming back.

I recently purchased an HD TV, and was going to get the HD programming packages Dish offers. I can also tell you that if this isn't resolved, they have lost not only my service to Direct TV, or Time Warner, but also everyone else I tell. In the end, we all know that I, the one pissed off customer who a huge business like them wouldnt help over a measly $314, will make them lose at least that much business, if not more, with word of mouth. I know it will never put them out of business, but they are doing that to themselves I think.

The conclusion I came to was that no-one there will help until I start telling my story to the higher end people of the company at Echo Star, websites like this, and everyone else who will listen. I do know the more people I tell and the more people that read this will cost them much more money than taking care of the problem. All it cost me is $314, a headache, and about an hour to write some emails, and post on a couple of websites.

I cant imagine they would feel safe knowing their company is being ran this way, with Representatives telling the customer what they want to hear just to get their money. Well, I can imagine that in todays world. Basically, I feel like someone is sitting there, counting their money, and laughing at the customers because they got one over us.

So what will Dish Network do to make this right? Any thoughts from the rest of the Dish Network Rip-offs?

Thank you for taking your time to read this. Maybe something good will come out of all of this. Probably not. Worth a shot though!

Sincerely,

Travis
