Going back to the install a year ago there have been ongoing problems. We were charged for our install even though it was supposed to be covered. Due to a partnership with A T & T our bundled service got to be an unbundled charge by A T & T and Dish could not help us both said. I complained but paid rather than get a credit hit.

Dish since then has had me on the phone many times with service problems.  Typically a channel will disappear and take a couple or three calls of about 30-60 minutes each to resolve.

Lately my remote has not worked so I have now had two receivers and two remotes with a third on the way. I was told I would be charged if somebody actually came out to look at the situation since they have "taken care of it" even though it still does not work. When I mentioned maybe there could be some sort of credit for all of the wasted hours on the phone with them I was told by the supervisor that I could refer two new customers and get something. He said that I was also getting something special which was my problem would be fixed! I do not consider getting the service I pay for as "special" and by the way after over  a month of going back and forth with service outage and remote not working its still not working. 

I am with Dish only because of programming I desire and understand a contract with 24 months is standard and tough to break even with having received horrible service.

I hope that companies that provide good service will win the satellite wars!
