this company  then tells me that they can cancel it but I would  need to pay early termination fee of 480 dollars and that there is nothing I can do about it but to pay it or up grade add more channels  and pay more . this is crazy asked for corporate number and was told there is no number or email to contact them so I will contact  a lawyer  in the am and also blog everrday about how stupid this

Our cable (XFinity) has all sorts of channels we couldn't care less about.  We've also had Dish Network and DirectTV.  Thay all have tons of stuff no one cares about.

However, that's part of the deal and their channel lineups are no secret, they are all on their web sites.  It would be nice if you could pick exactly what channels you want but that is not going to happen.

If you don't want to pay for unwanted channels, as far as I know, your only option is to buy antennas and receive broadcast TV.  If you are near a big city you can get several channels and they're free.

The last poster is absolutely correct about contracts and termination costs too.

You just didn't do your homework.

Gee, Darren, this would be a good time to read the contract you signed...

It obligates you to a two year contract with a pro-rated early termination fee.  It also allows them to collect what's owed them from the payment method you used to sign up. It further states you have to return all equipment at YOUR expense or face a high charge for that.  Guess you just didn't understand the contract when you signed it...right?

Your lawyer, after reading the contract, may laugh pretty hard that you want to sue them.  Where does the WRITTEN contract say you don't have to subscribe to music or ads?

You sound more stupid than most.  Most providers have VERY similar terms in their contracts.

Nope, I don't work for Dish, but have had their service since its inception and it has been good service.

Did I mention, you're a moron?

Let us know your court venue, date and docket number so we can all follow this....what could possibly go wrong?
