Dr Horton Sales deception poor no response ref. issues poor quality land development ripoff Riviera Beach Florida

Bought a home in a "gated" community for 243,000.00. DR Horton placed a wood privacy fence as our perimeter fence in addition to a chain link fence. This community is the only gated community in Palm Beach County with a 6 foot WOOD privacy fence.

The homeowners in this development took a risk to buy in this development because of the location. The city of Riviera Beach is one of the most violent crime ridden cities in Palm Beach County.

We have been victimized in the last year, during development. Many vehicles have been stolen, homes have been burglarized, and cars have been burglarized. The fence and lack of fencing in some areas has provided the criminals uninhibited access into our "gated" community.

The sales staff failed to mentioned that the community north of ours would have access into our small community in order to access a major roadway. This will allow a community of over 400 units to have access via foot and vehicle into our development.

The builder built a gate for this access that is comprised of two wood planks that raise and lower from pressure pads. There is total access into our developement from this other community and we are now being advised that we are responsible for the cost of repairing this gate when damaged.

Basically, the builder used deceptive sales techniques and failed to provide a worthy barrier.
