DTE Energy Making me pay $341.00 reconnection fee $20.00 reconnect meter fee Cinnanti OH
*Consumer Comment: You sure you want to stick with that story
DTE disconnected my service after being 10 minutes late of my payment posting. Not only did I have to pay the full amount they are also claiming I have to pay $341.00 reconnection fee and a $20.00 reconnect meter fee within 10 days ............All for a total of $306.00.
Reconnection fees are more then my total amount due - including the past due!
To my knowledge I NEVER received a Disconnection Notice - has I received a notice the would never have happened.

- They may have disconnected your service after being 10 minutes late of your payment posting, but what you failed to tell us is how many days late you already were. Most likley you were at least 10 days late and had been sent at least one notice. Of course we will cover the claim you didn't receive a notice shortly.
Reconnection fees are more then my total amount due - including the past due!
- Well since they are regulated and all of their fees are approved by the Public Utility Commission if you have an issue with the fees perhaps you should take it up with the PUC.
To my knowledge I NEVER received a Disconnection Notice - has I received a notice the would never have happened.
- So how exactly did you know you needed to pay a bill if you didn't receive a disconnection notice? Should we guess that you actually got the bill but figured you could "push" the payment a few days. If that is the case why would you need someone to threaten you with disconnection in order to get you to pay? If you had the money to pay then you should have paid when you were supposed to. If you didn't have the money, in reality what is the difference if they sent you a notice or not?
