Econo Air Unscrupulous service technician Anaheim California

I have been a customer of Econo Air for 13 years. In the year 2000, they installed a new central heating/air conditioning system in my house. During the period 2010-2012, they rebuilt the air conditioning unit outside the house, and in January 13, 2013,  they installed a new furnace.

I never had any problems until September 5 when a technician came to my house to investigate a strange noise emanating from the condenser pump, which is a small object that sits on the floor just outside the furnace. He installed a new pump and charged $774 for the job, which I thought was extremely high,  because it was a very small job which he completed within one hour. Why the high cost, I asked. He replied that he had to do some electrical work.

Later I checked the cost of the pump at the Home Depot - only $54. Then I realized that he had charged more than $720 for installation. Unfortunately, the job was a flop. Two strange noises were now coming from the pump , which he said he could not remove.

Later a plumber did some repiping around the furnace, and in the process made everything work fine (no more noises).  The plumber remarked on the poor quality of the work performed by Econo Air's technician.

I have written to Econo Air requesting a refund of $500.
