If you're looking for a company that can help you hire people in a professional, business-like way, Elance is NOT you company.

Who calls another person a liar they don't even know? Whay company thinks that's good business practice? In this age of computerization, it's easy to lose things; I get that. But to tell a customer who just spent a half hour entering information and "hiring" one of Elance's freelancers through their on-line system that none of that happened; the enrolment, the hiring, the provision of credit card information, the emails, the Skypes that went back and forth between the freelancer and me, the work he'd done, even the very fact I'd hired him; none of that occurred because their computers said it didn't. What company tells the customer they're a liar because their computers don't have the information that customer KNOWS that he input the day before? It's a long, long story and I'm so tired of dealing with this but this is the first time I've been so outraged that I'm taking the time to publicly complain. I've never been treated worse in my life; and that's a half a century. I should have looked them up in the compaint forums before I gave them my business. Then I'd have seen all the negative reviews that are out there. Did I get "ripped Off"? Well, it depends on what your definition is. A waste of time, of money, of energy. Being called a liar when I'm not. The aggravation. The frustration, the delay. I don't know today what qualifies as 'ripped off" and what doesn't. Whether I get what I paid for is still at issue as they've already debited my credit card but I haven't seen the work... not only the cost of the work I hired one of their "freelancers" to do for me but $1.00 and then another $1.00 that their company says will be released back to me because it was just used to "verify my credit card"!??? Can you imagine if they debited 1,000,000 people each $2.00, kept it for 10 days and then released it back? In the old days, it used to be called "the float"; The interest you made while you had that $2 in your account. I don't know if that's a rip off or not but through this whole thing, nothing's right about this company and if you're expecting to be treated like a person, helped and then charged accordingly in a professional, business-like manner, then this is not the place for you. Elance, remember the name and just run screaming. Find another company, any other company who understands that the customer comes first or at the very least, doesn't deserve to be called a liar.
