Company information: Eliot Management Group 555 Renton Place Village Renton, Washington United States Phone: 425-289-0200

I worked there for less than 4 months. Every manager I talked with, whether it a District manager or Regional manager, they all have lied to the sales staff and to the customers. they had this "bid tool" to show savings VS your current processor. It is all smoke and mirrors! They can tweek it so it appears you have more savings than you actually do. I have a copy of this on my computer that I will be showing to the authorities under the basis of fraud. My district manager, Gabe Jones is probably the most corrupt manager in the company.

He lies to his employees, lies in the face of customers, and I have knowledge he even lied to his superiors. He even, after fraudulently signing up a salon in Seattle, had sex with one of the owners and then when she realized she had been scammed, wanted her and her 8 other stylists to cancel there account. I personally saw the cancellation notice on Gabe's desk. Be very careful with this company and its henchmen. Here is what I wrote the corp office when they wanted my "Exit Survey"

Termination Exit Survey for Eliot Management Group Our records show you are no longer employed by EMG. In our ongoing efforts to improve employee retention, please complete the short survey below to tell us the primary reason why. Response Let go by manager didnt like training didnt like manager wasnt making money Not a good fit for job requirements other - Explain Comments All of the above! I encountered nothing but misrepresentation and lies from day 1 by the District Manager, Gabe Jones. I even had the Regional Manager, Joe Basura tell me he would get an answer to me by the time he left that day, and like others he did not come through. He told me he would get me list of current customers to contact and see if we could update there equipment, and did not follow through.

Good luck with getting and keeping employees. This by far was the worst organization to be employed by. So I have meet Gabe, Jim, Joe and Dave. No one seems to know what the others are doing. I've seen more people cancel there processing on the daily report than the office submit each week, which makes it obvious your customers have been lied to time and again along with to sales staff. I will pursue the right authorities to share with them the documents and proof I possess of what I see as fraud, lies and misrepresentation. You had an "F" rating with the BBB until recently. Business owners need to know to stay far away from your company!!!

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Eliot is a Terrible Company

AUTHOR: Justin Frazier - ()

POSTED: Friday, May 03, 2013

This comapny has had new management for a couple years now and I was there for over 5. They now have zero regard for ethics and treat merchants very unfirly fairly.

As for working there, Eliot now has a "revolving door" of reps so cant maintain quota so so they don't stay and the compnay gets the merchant as an agentless house account.

I have regulary seen outright fraud there, that managememnt was aware it if not commiting it themselves.

Stay Away from the corrupt organization. Employess 1's experice is typical and normal there. They are an bad copmany at best, crimnal at worst.

#1 UPDATE Employee

Really?

I've only been with Eliot for a few weeks, but I can honestly say that I haven't experienced anything like this reviewer.

The training and sales aspect have been pretty straight forward.  Like Yellow Pages advertising, the merchant industry is built on confusion.  All the merchants have differently formatted statements and codes.

There is a leeway in the difference between the wholesale and retail pricing and each company has different fees they charge.  That's called free-market.

With all this it can be confusing if you are not experienced with reading the various statements.

As far as the other stuff, it seems you are a disgruntled employee working with some possible rogue managers that may need to be removed from the company.  I can't really comment about those statements.

But in reference to the "lying", "deceiving customers", "fraudulent accounts", etc., I haven't gotten anything even remotely resembling that in any of my training nor in my interaction with upper management post-training.

My manager here in the Charlotte NC office has been nothing but honest and straight-up in dealing with our client base.

I'm sorry you had the experience that you did, but I'm not certain that it is a company-wide issue.

I can only speak for one office though.

I wouldn't put too much stock in the BBB things either.  Businesses can pay to have their rating upgraded and have problems disappear.  Some companies simply refuse to bow to the extortion.

Eliot does 10 billion in card processing every year.  In any company that size there will be some unethical sales personnel that have to be weeded out, there will be some business owners who misinterpret legitimate contracts, there will be some legitimate misunderstandings, and there will be some disgruntled employees.

I probably won't be in the industry very long.  But not because EMG is an unethical company, but because of the razor-thin profit margins in acquiring new accounts.  It's a hard sell with small commissions.  I haven't been with Eliot long enough to be a blinded "company man" so I don't think I'm particularly biased for the company.  I just haven't seen anything like what was described in this complaint.
