Our insurance company set us up with Enterprise after a car accident.  My husband and I rented a 2014 Chevy Malibu.  The Malibu had been returned only minutes prior to our rental.  My husband did a very quick inspection of the car before driving it off of the lot.  We returnd the rental car 27 days later on March 22nd 2014 when our car was out of the shop.  When the car was returned the inspecting agent noted that there was a scratch on the hood and on the roof.  Both scratches were minor and could have been very quickly and easily buffed out.  If my husband or I had noticed them, we would have done it ourselves.  The scratches were so minor that we had never even noticed they were there.  The inspecting agent told us that we had to pay them our $500 insurance deductible right then and there.  My husband being late for work at this point, just said, fine charge it to the credit card on file.  He was told that if the repair costed less, we would receive a check in the mail. Yesterday, May 8th, 2014. we received a bill in the mail for another $483 on top of the $500 that was already paid along with dated pictures of the damage.  The date on the pictures is from 2 1/2 weeks after (April 9th, 2014) the car was returned to Enterprise.  There was more damage in the pictures then when we returned the car to them.  Clearly, they rented the car to another individual after we returned the car and that individual caused more damage, which we are now paying for.  The repair shop charged $730 for the repair work and things were itemized on the list that had nothing to do with the hood or roof of the car such as doors, emblems, and bumpers.  In addition to those charges, there was a $100 administrative fee (I would love to know what that is) $98 for loss of rental days (understandable), and $71 for loss of value of the vehicle (last I checked having scratches buffed out of the vehicle did not change the value of a vehicle).  I would not be surprised if Enterprise was charging both my husband and I, as well as the driver who rented the car after us for the same repair bill.  I will be bringing this to my insurance agency to fight the bill and if they can not handle it, I will be calling a lawyer since I get free lawyer services through my union.  I will NEVER use Enterprise again and neither will my friends or family.  I have never seen such fraudulent business practices in my life.  Enterprise should be investigated for their business practices.

"My husband did a very quick inspection"...  Since it was YOUR money on the line, do you sort of think your hiusband should have taken his time to do an inspection WITH the clerk and then INSIST pre-existing damage be listed on the contract?  When turning the car back in, husband should have gone over the car with the clerk to spot or not spot any new damage!  If either you or your husband failed to do the proper inspections and note pre-existing damage on the contract, you have no way to prove any damage was pre-existing.  No, I don't work for them!
