Envato.com and CodeCanyon.com Sold defective software and then would not refund the money. Melbourne Victoria

Envato sells software made by ad hoc developers, that they make a commision on the sales therein.

In my experience, the developers often times make software with many bugs, usually you dont find out about them until you have used it for awhile and then notice they have left something out.

Envato never gives a cash refund, only a credit, you just must keep trying their products and hope for the best.

They are not in the USA so beware, you can't sue them very easily, they are in Australia.

They exploit their distance from the USA and make up excuses for not refunding your money even for a credit.

Example: I was told the software is sold as-is.

Imagine that sort of attitude, after you realize the software is broken.

Another big problem is the developer who sold you the software can leave at anytime and no longer has to support the product, Envato will not support it, thus you have no recourse at all, no follow up contact information.

They complaints pile up and then they leave town so to speak, you are out the money.

This has happened to me on multiple occasions.

The developer will always say, we will fix that in our next update or things to that effect, then they never do.

This can be seen in the comments section of any of the softwares for sale.

When they leave Envato, with your money, all the comments are gone and so is the ability to download the item.

There is no feedback type ranking system like ebay has for example so it is hard to know the good from the bad based on customer experiences.

I would say it is better to do business in America where you have recourse and leave these sorts of offshore and dis-honorable foreign companies alone.

They are a Ripp-Off and that is why I am reporting them, so the public has a fair warning.
