EOS CCA sent me a letter via postal mail titled a "Notice Of Collection Placement" claiming that I owe a debt of under one hundred dollars to Ebay, INC, and offered a settlement price of half the amount. I called Ebay and I do not, now ever, have owed any amount sent to collections. I have reported this to Ebay fraud division, and I believe this is a fradualent way of intimidating me into paying EOS CCA money that I do not owe. I request this report be filed so I have a audit trail of actions taken for this issue.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds
Don't ignore it

Ok it's not a scam and people who think it is and "ignore" it will only get you in more trouble. Eos is a legitimate collections agency for eBay. I used to work for them last year and got lots of people stating "they will call eBay" and confirm us only to call back and pay what they owe.
Just because you called eBay and they said you don't have an account doesn't magically stop the collections, you NEED to call eos because they have your name and address which they get from eBay. Now it could be a issue of mistaken skip tracing but ignoring the letter will only lead to phone calls.
If it is a case of having the wrong person eos will help you but you can't ignore it. People who say its a scam have done no research.
If you get a notice even if it's not correct calling the client in this case eBay does no good.

This is indeed a scam, it has been going around in many ways. Just ignore it, and close any account they have information about.
