I was scammed by them back in the end of September, beginning of October. The big mistake I made was not only believing their crap and giving out my banking information, but also I was having such financial problems at that time and was starting to count on that money to cover certain bills, like utilities. Anyway, one day I was surfing the net and came across a site: I saw other similar scams and posted, have I been scammed. I was informed that yes, I had been, and given instructions how to try to get my money back, plus they gave me information about filing complaints with many authorities.

My bank (now my former bank) gave me a copy of the draft used for the debit to my bank account, and told me to contact Netchex for my refund, which I did. They processed my refund around mid-November and in the meantime I contacted as many authorities as I could, and I got a call a couple weeks later from my state's Attorney General's office, following up, and they said that Chris from Everest said that THEY had issued me a refund on November 26, but of course they had not. I informed the Attorney General's office that while I had received my refund, it was certainly NOT from Everest, it was from Netchex.

One other thing I might mention is that I got attempted automatic debits to my account recently, and got ACH charges since the funds were not in there since I have been trying to close that account (it is finally closed), these charges were from CHECK RECO, which I take to mean Check Recovery Systems, which is apparently the old name of Netchex. I know that they reserve the right to debit the funds from my account if I receive a refund from the merchant, but I did not receive a refund from this merchant, no matter what they said, and what I don't understand is, why didn't Netchex contact me regarding then, then?

Anyway, I figured that since I forgot to post this here, I should. They gave me such a hard time every time I contacted them, and then had the nerve to lie and claimed they refunded my money? Now I am also wondering about Netchex, what their deal is. I was thinking that they were great the way they handled my refund, but again debiting my account without even contacting me? That seems like a double scam to me. But I hope I am wrong about that.
