My husband and I, like many of you, are having difficulty paying our mortgage. He is recently retired from a his company going bankrupt.
We received a call from Fintech Services within a week of President Obama's speech saying that he was calling for modifications of loans to help people with their mortgages. Mr. Perdue was very friendly and knowledgeable. He assured me we would 'sleep soundly and be stress-free' now that they were helping us to get a modification. He wrote in an email that they could get our mortgate down to 3-4%. They also told me that I could have them handle my personal loan of $10,000 in their 'debt settlement' department for only 50 cents on the dollar.
I faxed all the paperwork they asked for AND the $995.00 up front cost, and waited. The only instructions they gave me were to not talk to my bank, for any reason and to not pay my mortgage. After 2 months of waiting and sending emails with various questions, I received a judgement on my personal loan, taped to my front door! I called the lawyers who sent the judgement and explained everything to them. They called Fintech and got no response....from a lawyers office!
I then went to their web site and emailed from there. Mr. Cappello sent me an email 'personally', it's his company. He explained that his 'people' don't have time to update me on everything going on with the 'litigations' and that I need to be patient. He assured me I would get a call from their office immediately, didn't happen.
I finally called my mortgage company and they basically laughed, after having given them all the information of which I'd gone through for the past 3 months. They said they had not talked to anyone from Fintech, they had only received faxes of what I had sent to them, which they passed on to my mortgage company. Nobody from Fintech was on the phone litigating on my behalf. There are no documented calls from Fintech whatsoever.
I emailed Mr. Cappello again to tell him I wanted my money back and that I was looking into legal action.
I will persue this and all other actions with this company until I get my money back and I am ashamed at myself for falling for this scam.

Fintech updates?
AUTHOR: Stephanie - (Afghanistan)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, July 27, 2011
I know it's been a year, but has anyone made any headway on this company? I like that we can 'vent' here, and share our stories.....but does it do any good? Has anybody gotten their money back? Has Fintech been charged at all or do they keep moving around the U.S., changing their name so they can not be found? I would like feedback from any/all persons re: charges against this company. The government says 'don't get scammed' and 'buyer beware' but they don't help when you do get scammed, and this is a big one!
Thanks for any and all responses.............

Fintech Services Update

I see that there are more than (5) reports on this company. Hopefully, something more can be done since it has happened to so many people. I, plan to continue seeking retribution for my lost funds.
I did receive a call from the 'bitter buyer' as a suggestion from this site. I don't have to pay anything if they don't get me my money back, BUT, if they do, they told me that they get 50%. I don't think so!
Basically, if you are having the same problem I had with this company, you have the right to go back on the creditor that issued the debit/credit card that you used to pay Fintech with. Investigate what your options are and possibly with the help of your creditor, they can assist you.
I had already lost enough and won't be scammed again.
I am open to speak with anyone else who has been scammed by this company, and low and behold.....have saved ALL the paperwork I faxed them, and they faxed back to me, also I have all of the emails from them saved!

To update on this company, I have received several phone calls telling me that their 'lines' were down and that they were having trouble with reaching customers. I did not respond to these phone calls, but they left a message saying that I have a wonderful chance of getting a loan modification and they are still working on our file. I proceeded to the FTC website (federal trade commission). It is a great consumer site for all kinds of problems with companies. I filed a report with them and hope to hear from them soon. You can also look up companies from this site, who are in the midst of charges or have charges on them. And what a coincidence, there was FINTECH SERVICES, ANDREW CAPPELLO out of Maryland, being asked by the FTC to 'cease and desist' as of July 9, 2009. There is a name next to the court order, which I am going to call this week to try and get some information.
I am not done with this company. I plan on getting my money back!
