The company contacted me last week and offered this astonishingly good loan-forgiveness deal. First I'd have to give them my bank account information so that they could send a proposal to Sallie Mae. The surprisingly good terms and the insistence that I provide my bank account information both automatically made me uneasy.

I got more suspicious when I noted the several different phone numbers that the company used to contact me over the several days of our correspondence. I looked each one up. And none of my Web searches identified any of the phone numbers as belonging to any recognized business, not in Florida and not anywhere else.

Then I asked for the website. And the website looked convincing. Until I took the address on it (in Lake Worth, Florida) and looked it up. It turned out that it is a real address, but it's occupied by a health food store and has been for the past three years.

This company is clearly not what it claims to be. And I luckily figured that out before paying it any money. But I sincerely wish to make sure that other loan borrowers do not fall prey to it, either.

Hiring an attorney to file civil suit

AUTHOR: rivermom66 - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, March 26, 2015

I filed a claim against this company several days ago because I have been trying to get someone on the phone for months who can help me. I paid the $600.00 for the initial filing agreement etc.  Then after months of waiting I heard nothing so I contacted this company again.  I managed to get a nice kid to help me.  He told me that they had ot filed my paperwork with SallyMae yet because they didn't have all of my information (which they did).  He told me to call the DOE and ask for a 6 month extension to give the comapny time to get my consolidation started.

The company was debiting my bank account $36.00 per month for the last 6 months and still have not done anything for me.  I was contacted by another company to handle my student loans in January of 2015 and when I explained that I had hired this comapny they told me that the dept of education never filed anything with them regarding my student loans.  I called Fresh Student again and insisted that they cancel my account, no longer debit my bank account, and send me my $600.00 back because they broke the agreement not me.

I was given to a man who said he was the supervisor, and that I was all set. I would no longer be debitted, and my account was cancelled.  When I asked about my $600.00 he stated that he would have to have the owner get back with me. He promised it would be in the next 10 minutes and I have never heard from them again.

I am filing a grievance with the court for this comapny taking advantage of a disabled person, on a fixed income, and fraudulantly and predatorily seeking me out.  This company called me, I did not contact them.  I would love to settle this out of court but if I do not hear from someone soon it will be to late.

Sour Grapes

Both the complaints about this company are half correct at best.  I worked there for over a year and left only becuase my wife was transfered away from the area and we had to move.  It is a fast pace office and owners were there eveyday over insisting that we always take the high road.  When you are dealing with people who are in default on their student loans you get some real winners and you have to try to figure out if you can help them or not.  In about half the calls that come in we could not help the people becuase they had defaulted on thier loans and most of those never even went to school, they just got loans and spent the money and then they would get extremely mad with us when we could not offer them one of the governtment approved loan forgiveness programs.  As far as that other guy that said he worked there, I am not sure about.  I know several people were fired for drinking on the job and one guy was caught using crack in the break room.  They had security throw him out and then he damaged one fo the owners cars the next day.  The work I did when I was there was very rewarding becuase about 45% of the time you are able to show people how they may qualify for various government programs that can reduce their student debt problems.  We charged for this service.  I got paid for doing this for people and I think that is ok.  IT is a very confusing process and I am sure that most of the people we talked to could have never figuered out how to do it and would have never been enrolled in one the programs. The owners alway had an open door policy and clients could come into the office at any time.   Also, we did not contact people.  They either called us or came to the office looking for help. The owners did try to push a close rate that helped keep the company profitable and is was kinda salesy but we helped lots of people.

Hello, I am one of the owners of Fresh Student LLC. I am not sure why people are so quick to post on this website. This website allows anybody to post with no concern for the truth. Our main office address is 1926 10th Ave N. Lake Worth, FL 33461. Our main number is 888-797-1470. Our website is www.studentapproved.com.

We are a document preparation company that prepares all of the documents needed in order to submit for consolidation. Depending on your circumstance there are several different programs you may or may not qualify. You do not have to hire a company like ours as you can attempt to do this on your own. Just as doing your taxes. You can hire someone or do it yourself.

We are in business it make money just like any other for profit company. If this site is what you are using to make a judgment call just remember that anyone can post on here in order to try to hurt a company. We cannot make every person 100% happy 100% of the time. We have people sign up for our services than a week later change their minds. In our client agreement form which everyone signs it clearly states that you can cancel this agreement within 3 business days. Beyond that you are in a committed agreement. We know this will continue to always be a potential problem. If you are thinking of becoming a client please feel free to give us a call.

Yes they are a rip off..

I was working at a different company quite, but they offered me a position which they promised to be be better pay and better hours... Well it turns out after 2 weeks of being their there investor pulled out and they stopped paying all their employees, they currently owe me 1,800 dollars. The company does exist, its on the 3rd floor of that building across from the Duffy's Management office. The owners of the company Daniel J Wise, Casy Cochren, and their Project Manager Evan Drew are the scummiest people you will ever deal with. Google all three of their names and put the word ripoff after it... Daniel J Wise the Director of the company is currently being tried for running a pill mill in Atlanta and is hopefully going to jail. Also, the only person who new anything about student loan consolidation, left monthes ago, do not give these people money you will regret it. I left a decent job to work for these idiots, its the worst mistake I have ever made....
