I bought a Claddagh ring from the Glencara Jewellery company based in Galway Ireland. It was a present for a friend but when it arrived it was a size too small. I returned it to the returns address stated and asked for the next size up. Several weeks passed without hearing anything so I rang them on their free phone form the UK number. I have now rang many times only to get the same automated message, that they cannot take the call as it is outside their business hours of 8am to 4pm. Every time I have rang it has been within this time.

The recorded message also states that I could send an email and it should be answered within 24 hours. The email I sent was answered with and automated reply saying I would get a response within a week. If it was important I should mark the subject as 'Urgent'. After 10 days and more phone calls I emailed again an 'Urgent' message only to get yet another automated response. I followed this up immediately with another 'Urgent' email expecting another automated response but strangely have now heard nothing for several days.

Also the automated response contains additional information on how to return an item which is not stated on the Customer Service page on their web site, such as it should be sent via "Airmail" and "International signed for" . None of this fills me with any confidence.

I have no idea where to proceed from here, as I have exhausted all avenues only to be met with a total absence of customer service. Would another written letter to the stated returns address be worthwhile?
