GMAC Mortgage Corp. GMAC Mortgage, lied to me, and auctioned off my house. waterloo, Iowa

GMAC Mortgage straight out lied to me and sold my house at auction.
We have been doing a modifacation with them for many months, the entire time we have been making a monthly payment. When they came up with a temporary payment amount that didnt make sense with the amount of our income we asked them to review the financial report. At that time, the person who we were speaking to, said "oh your old financial worksheet was used, resubmit a new one immediatly" so we did, that day. That was friday April 9th. At that time, being aware of the way (at least the way we had been told) things work with a default, we asked "is there a sale date", we ask this because we know they will postpone it because of the new packet. "NO sale date, you are not in foreclosure" I had my 3rd party call too, same thing. We call on monday to confirm the packet has been recieved, "yes, its right here" and again, "just to confirm there is no sale date" .
WE called everyday, we knew we were going to be signing papers that week with the final deal, everyday they said, "we were in review, no foreclosure" all the way up to the moment my house was sold, they lied to us and said.... 'NO SALE DATE"
I couldnt believe it. And now we can not do anything. Because we believed them. WE could have done several different things to keep our house, BK, chapter 7, paid the amount we thought was higher than it should have been, but we believed them. WE actually believed them. WE have lived here for 20 years, we never ever thought about leaving. we have 4 kids, and I had just been laid off my 40k job. My husband still works and makes a good living, WE were just trying to get affordable payments.
Our hearts are broken. No lawyer will take the case, because we had nothing in writing, nothing. We are really hurting, and have to leave our home. Donot trust anything they say. We had the trustee, and the GMAC on the phone before the sale trying to get them to just look at their notes, and they wouldnt even just look at their own notes. The trustee was even trying to get them to answer the phone, and every time a different person. Some of them couldnt believe it was happening either. "Oh how sad you feel through the Cracks" um ya,,, kinda really sad. "have a nice day, and thank you for calling GMAC mortgage"
I can not tell you the pain it has caused. It is too much. And to be treated so badly. it is a sad sad thing. DONOT TRUST ANY GMAC COMPANIES. I only hope someone reads this and it helps them, because we had to go through this. How does someone heal from this kind of thing??
