Its simple, This company used to be good but now it is has become agressive and preditory. The cost of just hosting and existing website is so out of scale of what they have to do. They make the signup cheap and make faithful existing cutomers pay the price later.
If they want to charge whatever for building a website, fine buyer beware, but they are also always trying to slip in extra charges without you realzing it in very sneaky ways. Then they send all kinds of spam on a regular basis and stick it to you. I mean $18 for just hosting? What do they have to do, strain their finger to make a click, if even that.
I had to renew with them today because I am too busy right now to search for anothe host, but I will find on for sure next time.

Yeah, This company is really hurting and does all of its sneeky ways of adding costs with upsells, that I have had to catch them on several occasions. And also, all the other people who have filled reports must be wrong too.
As far as servers and such, there are so many subscibers and extra website services, I guarantee you they are making money hand over fist.
But I'm have already done the research and found a much cheaper host.
Rebutt as you will, I know what the real lowdown is with this and other ripoff companies.

Servers cost money and must be maintained. They must be operated in an air-conditioned environment. The data must be backed up. The equipment occupies real estate and uses electricity. The people that maintain the servers need a toilet and a desk. Yes, these things cost money. It’s called overhead.
There is no rip-off.
