SEO Reputation Management at its best!

Gordie Boucher Ford has the most dishonest and incompetent service department of any dealer I have ever worked with. Being in the service industry myself and owning a fleet of vehicles, I have experienced the best and the worst this field has to offer.

The service manager at this dealer is not competent to be a service writer - and especially has NO business running the service department. In my opinion, he is dishonest and does not accept responsibility when his mechanics make mistakes - not good qualities in a management position.

My most recent issue resulted in my entire wheel and hub assembly FALLING off of my truck the first time I used the 4X4 function of the truck after having the truck serviced no less than 7 times for front end work. At 25,500 miles, the dealer finally replaced all ball joints, u-joints, and related front end parts. The vehicle was in storage for a season and then taken out for use this winter. Upon the first application of the four wheel drive, the ball joints physically ripped apart and then attempting to remove the vehicle out of the street resulted in the entire assembly falling off the truck.. [continued below]....

I immediately contacted the service manager hoping for some compassion based on previous issues (see below). The service manager Mike Schultz, immediately became defensive saying it was "impossible for this to happen" and he'd have to inspect the vehicle before making any determination on if they'd stand by their work. I waited for 3-4 hours for a tow and brought the truck in for their inspection. The manager immediately told me this was my fault - that I must have hit something and that they were not responsible in any way.

He even went as far to tell me the sales person at this dealership sold me a truck that was not designed for my intended use (snow removal) and that 4X4 trucks can't be driven even on damp pavement while turning (which I was not doing). Either way - an argument ensued and I was told to get the truck out of his dealership and that they would not only not cover it but would not service the vehicle any more. If this was the case, trucks all over the country would be losing their wheels. This was only one of several issues over a 10 year relationship with this dealer.

Some other issues with this service department:

I had a new transmission installed in a previous vehicle. Upon driving the vehicle home, the front driveshaft flew off the truck while driving. It was later determined that the mechanic (I use this term lightly) forgot to install the bolts that hold this to the transfer case. Major damage was done to the vehicle and I eventually traded it in for a new truck.

The replacement truck (2006) was in the shop 15 times in one year. The dealer could not figure out the problem and often their repairs made the vehicle worse than when I brought it in. The issues got so bad, Ford came in and replaced the truck with a 2007.

The 2007 had even more issues at this dealer. It took an average of 5 visits to get any repair done and each time, I would notice damage or missing parts after the repair. On 4 occasions, the dealer had to replace the wheel covers as they would fall of leaving the dealer because they were not installed properly.

I brought the vehicle in for brake issues after having them diagnosed by another shop as prematurely wearing due to sticking calipers. They denied the repair and I had to have the brakes serviced by another shop. 2000 miles later, the so-called "not locked up calipers" got so bad, the wheels were smoking and only then did the dealer replace the calipers - after I paid $500 out of pocked. This was pur dishonesty and documented by 2 other facilities.

One visit, the dealer smashed the front of the truck and attempted to put touch up paint on a body shop repair that later cost over $500 to be performed. The dealer did pay for the repair but tried to pull a fast on us by dabbing on touch up paint over the dent.

I brought the truck in on 6 occasions for no-start. 25 days after the warranty expired, the starter completely failed and the dealer would do nothing for me. The same issues I had for years prior - finally caused the starter to fail completely leaving me stranded. Again, the dealer lied to me saying I never had mention it needed a starter (my job to do this?)

The manager routinely lied about items that were on the repair not being covered, blaming me for the issues, telling me he'd stand by me only to be told by Ford customer service that the manager denied any coverage on the vehicle, listed repair parts that I was asked to pay for and later find out they were NOT even installed (a transmission filter assembly).

The list could go on and on. The bottom line is, the truck has never been right. I have a 2007 with only 27000 miles sitting in my shop - missing an entire hub and wheel - and no dealer support. All I can do is get the word out so other customers are not exposed to such a miserable experience. Also, management should be aware of the poor choice they have in a service manager and make a change to try to salvage what could be a great dealership under the right leadership. Please - there are many dealers that want your business and hire competent staff. Stay away from Gordie Boucher Ford.
