They sold me the wrong engine for the car , cost $2895.00 and cost me for my mechanic to install the engine $1392.00 , when my mechanic installed the engine , it would not start , now this is a remanufactured engine , every thing is new , my mechanic was to just change the manifolds and accessaries and it would be like new. and the engine had a 3 year/100.000 mile warranty , I was told by the sales person that if any thing went wrong , I would not have to worry because I was covered by the best warranty in the business. after my mechanic installed the engine , the car would not start , he then called gotengines.com , they told him to replace the cam gear with a different one and the car would be alright, well my mechanic did that , he had to pull the front of the engine apart to do this , parts and labor for that was $653.35

that claim was put in 2 weeks ago , and while my mechanic was doing this , I called gotengines.com , and was told do not worry , it is covered , you won,t have to pay a thing , well now I am told they will only pay $50 per hour , it cost me $80 per hour , plus the parts , it turns out they got the engine from a place called advance power train solutions. they told me that the engine is for a intrepid not a sebring , and my mechanic was told by other engine suplyers that this engine will not work in this car , it is a 2002 sebring , but it would work in a 2004 to 2005 sebring , gotengines.com wants advance power train solutions to pay for it , and they say that gotengines.com ordered the wrong engine and it is up to them to pay for it , to ship me a new engine and pay to have it installed , this has been going on for over a month and I still have a car that will start but will not drive , and I have spent over $5000.00 and I am just getting the run around.

We have another car , but my wife needs that to go to work , and I need a car to go to therapy and doctors , I am disabled , and we are out of money , and our credit card is maxed out , we can not pay for any thing else,we have already paid for the engine and the labor and extra labor for what they said would fix the problem. we are just getting screwed by this company , and they lie about their warranty , this company dosn,t even build their own engines , they buy them from other places , they are very deceptive from start to finnish

3rd engine

AUTHOR: Jon - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, September 25, 2009

well the 2nd engine was bad due to the crankshaft gear was not pressed in corect , that caused the timming cover to crack , that cost me another $112.00 , but at this point I am willing to pay for that my self , but there was another 5 hours of labor to pay for , for installing all the parts and then installing the engine in the car , thank god that my mechanic had to turn the engine to line up the trans conveter , that is when he found out the engine would not turn , he had to take the engine back out of the car and took off all the parts , at that point , he found that the reason the engine would not turn , was due to the crankshaft gear , that gear also drives the oil pump , he didn,t want to chance pressing the gear in to the correct depth , and put the engine back in , to posibilty have no oil pressure ,

But thanks to MELISSA AT GOTENGINES.COM , she DID ALOT OF WORK FOR ME , SHE DID ALL THE DEALING BACK AND FORTH WITH GREEN LEAF , AND ADVANCE POWERTRAIN SOLUTIONS AND FINNALY DID GET ME THE REFUND OF $2454.86 , for the 2nd R&R of the engine and the 5 extra hours of  labor for the 1/2 install , and the first extra hours of labor and the parts for what the engine builder told my mechanic to do , for the 1st engine to work , but it didn,t .

But end result is that gotengines did do the right thing , and I credit it all to Melissa , if it wasn,t for her I would be stuck with a car with a engine that wasn,t for my car , or a 2nd engine that wasn,t built correctley.

So a big thank you to Melissa ,  and also thank you to gotengines.com for doing the right thing

2nd engine they sent is seized and no good

AUTHOR: Jon - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, September 11, 2009

well after many many phone calls , and many emails , finnaly gotengines.com had their engine builder ship out another remanufactured engine ,

this time it was going to be the right one for the car , that is what I was asured of , and they told me that after the work was done by my mechanic , I was to call them and they would either send me a check or do a wire transfer for the labor to install the engine for the 2nd time and also pay me back for the labor and parts that their engine builder told my mechanic to replace to make the other engine work , which it didn,t , but they would not pay the taxes for any thing ,

I am already in the hole for $5089.10 for the 1st engine and labor , and now another $1540.75 for the labor to install the 2nd engine , and that engine is seized , no good at all , I called them , their engine builder now wants my mechanic to take the heads off the engine to see what he can see ,

now this is a remanufactured engine , every thing in it is new from top to bottom , my mechanic said no way is he going to take that engine apart , then they would be able to say it is some thing he may have done , and I agree , I paid for a new engine , not a engine that needs to be fixed ,

now I am in the hole for $6629.85 , I was supost to get paid back $2054.86. for the first R&R of the engine and the extra parts and labor , But as of now I still have no car , well I have one , it is now dead in the shop , and I am looking at more money and time.

this is really taking it toll on our family , and mostly me , I am due to get a mri of my lower spine , a mri of my foot , a emg of my lower spine , I have to go to a orthopedic surgeon and a nero surgeon , I am losing my ability to walk and we need our car

What was their sales process like?

I'm sorry for your loss of time and money.

I have a question though: What sales process did GotEngines.com put you through? Be specific - what was the name of your salesman, what questions did they ask, what were your answers, was the engine rebuilt, remanufactured, or used, what did they tell you?
