Well to start off with this company I started with a great sales man.  He is a person I still will gladly deal with.  Though he was training a new guy for the company and no big thought to it.  Well out of the blue the new guy and some girl show up giving stories that the good sales guy was gone and just havn't shown up for work.

Well I start dealing with them and they are charging me pretty hard and high but I figured the good deals went with the good sales man.

Forget to mention the company sells steaks burgers ETC at a pretty good price.  Some of it though is way under sized for what you pay but quality was great.

Issue came though I was building a great stock of meat and needed a deep freezer and was waiting for my money to come in.  They jumped up and said we have one the company says they can let go for $231.  They told me the boss was willing to sell it and its a highly inspected machine etc.

Well they bring it over and we plug it in.  First I noticed it was painted.  Though being a large standing deep freezer it was still a good deal.  Then I noticed the plug was replaced.  Strange.  Then when I plugged it in, it was extremely loud.  Being that I have Tinnitus (ringing in the ear) from a loud noise exposure the loud deep freezer was giving me a bad head ache.  They told me " Don't worry it will go away just from the transport."  I told them they would have to take it back if it doesn't stop.  They told me don't worry you have a 90 day garruntee from the company.

I started becoming physically ill from the noise, being that its noise made my noise worse.  I called them after FOUR hours to take it back and they promised to take it back the next monday 3 days later.

Well then they started ignoring me constantly and I called the company who explained the reps did the deal under the table and they can't help.  I complained more and they sent a guy to my house to talk to me.  They finally caved and agreed to take back the freezer and send me a check for the money.

Well Almost a week goes by and I call and they tell me on a Monday that the person who sent it out forgot and they will talk to him.  ONE week later I call and they tell me the check was written out but got left on the same persons desk, we will get it out.  ONE more week later, "OHHH the deep freezer guy yeah the check is in the mail"  One more week later, there number has a constant fax machine connected to it and nobody picks up the phone.

I found out that the company instead of paying me completely out of there pocket they forced the bad reps to pay them back half of the money and the good sales man to pay me half the money because he was my original rep and he wanted to continue with me.  Well in the end now there bad reps took my $231, they took $231 from there own reps to recover the cost to send me my money, they took my deep freezer.  Leaving me with nothing.  Then leaving them with an extra deep freezer and an extra $231.

Final say

Not added in because honestly it took this company a couple months to pay me the money.  In fact the rebuttal he made was days after he paid me.  I called over and over, told the check was written out and sitting on the desk waiting to go in mail on day x.  Well next week it was another story of yadda yadda check is still on my desk sorry it didn't get mailed.

Took me threatening with my lawyer before I received the call saying "we got your check in the mail"  I had one guy that worked under the CEO that told me the check was not even written yet after being told for weeks that it was written and sitting on a desk.  The two independent contractors that set up this deal, like noted below also still worked for the same company after treating my family horrible.  They lost a few clients in our park from doing so.

Long story short they paid me back, after I threatened with my lawyer giving the name and phone number to contact him back at to handle the issue with him personally.  Surprising after that they called me and got the check mailed the same week.  Should of did it a month or so prior to that and I might never of listed the story in the first place.

Shady Business, Shady Owner

AUTHOR: SirT - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, October 28, 2012

I find it highly unlikely this person would make up an in-depth story like this, in order to tarnish your reputation - especially if he still purchases products from you.

I find it unlikely for a few reasons:
I was contracted by the owner (Bill Holton) to set up an eCommerce website for him and his company.
For the course of 2 - 3 months, I worked on this site bringing it to near completion. All I needed was a few more product pictures from him to complete the website. I had maybe a half an hour worth of work left to finish it up. I let him know I was wrapping up the project and that all I needed was the few product pictures from him, to finish it up. He told him he would get them to me soon and that's when it started going down hill.

Around the end of November was when I told him I was ready to wrap it up, slap the few pictures he needed to send me on the website, and get my pay. Him getting back to me with those pictures never happened.

I sent a slew of emails, trying to get the pictures. He did not respond to them. After a week, I started calling his number. I find it unlikely that this users report was falsified, because our treatment was quite similar; I called day after day and was ignored by the owner. Putting in around 35 hours in on this project only to be ignored when I was finished aggravated me quite a bit, but I kept my cool (for the time being) and kept trying to contact him.

Finally, I called from a different number than my cell phone and what do you know, he picks up.  I told him that the sites nearly complete and that I needed the last few product pictures to slap on, so I can get paid. He told me that he was going on holiday vacation and that we would finish it up after Jan 1st, 2012 and he would pay me after the holidays. It took me approximately 3-4 weeks to get ahold of him only to hear I would have be unpaid before the holidays and wait even longer to finish and get paid.

I toughed it out and waited.

After Jan. 1st , I started trying to reach him again and just like before, he kept ignoring my calls.
I switched between calling from a few different numbers, but he seemed to be more on guard this time. Luckily, I caught him off guard. He answered my actual cell phone and asked who it was. He must have removed my number from his phone and forgot who I was, because this time he asked who I was. When I told him who I was, his response and tone told me that he was caught off guard. He told me quickly that he would send me the pictures to finish up the site by Monday, and then got off the phone.

That was the last I heard of him. After a month of him not responding to emails and phone calls, I took the site down and cut my losses.

In the end, I made out with a partial payment of a case of gourmet steaks (I received this earlier in the job) and he was left back at square one; so, I guess that's something.

I was referred to Bill by one of his long time employees after he got my roommate a job as a salesman. This is, from what these two told me, what he got into after I had my shady encounter with him.

1.)I wasn't the only one who didn't get paid for the Holidays, apparently. His long time employee informed me that his salesmen and workers informed were VERY unhappy, as well; they weren't receiving the pay they were owed either. From what I was told, it was due to having too much stock , not even sales, and a lack of money. Regardless, the employees weren't being paid properly near the Holidays either. One employee was so grieved by this, he decided to steal a sales/ delivery truck and cases of product. This was more reasoning for not paying the salesmen what they were owed. My friend, only being owed $70 (his stay as a salesmen didn't last too long after all of that), wasn't paid either.

1.) His long time employee informed me that he was arrested for being involved with someone who was doing something illegal in regards to flipping houses. To Bills defense, the employee said Bill was arrested for being partners with the person who committed the crime. Supposedly, he wasn't involved in the wrong doing.

I saw Bill Holton online and decided to see if he ever got his site up and found this report on google when I searched his company name. If you paid me bill, your website would have been one of the first thing coming up on Google, not this.

The facts are all wrong

AUTHOR: Great American Steak Company - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, June 18, 2011

The facts are nowhere near correct and this customer has a skewed version of events. Great American Steak Company is a reputable wholesale frozen food distributor in North East Ohio. We have numerous independent contractors that purchase products from us and sell them to the end user as is the case here.

Great American Steak Company in no way shape or form ever provides customers with used freezers. This was done as a deal between 2 independent contractors and the customer himself.

Great American Steak Company was never aware of the transaction at all until we got a call from the customer several weeks after the transaction was completed.

We attempted to get the independent contractors to do the right thing and give their customer his money back but they weren't willing to do that, so at that time we at Great American Steak Company took it upon ourselves to refund the customer back the money for the freezer, we then picked up the old freezer and removed it from the customers property as per his request.

Not real sure why the customer is saying that Great American Steak Company didn't refund the money out of our pocket because we paid him by a company check that I personally signed.

I'm also pretty sure this customer  continues to buy products from us to this day.

I agree it took longer than it should of to give the customer a refund but Great American Steak Company wasn't obligated at all to give him any money back but we don't do business that way so we took care of him.

I'm still a little puzzled as to why this customer would post inaccurate information on this site so I wanted to set the record straight
