I took out a mortgage loan thru Conseco five years ago, which was purchased by Greentree. The loan amount was for $26309.61. I recently called for a pay off quote and was told it was 27,648.52!
How is it possible that my principle balance increased? And, after looking over my loan papers I discovered that for a twenty six thousand dollar mobile home, I will be paying back one hundred and six thousand dollars!
I urge all people to stay away from GreenTree. They have countless lawsuits against them and are predatory lenders. Whad judge in their right mind would award them the victor in a case where they are charging some one over seventy thousand dollars in finances charges? I will soon find out as I am taking them to court. Stay away from Greentree!!!!

Mortgage companies are in this to MAKE MONEY. I know, that is shocking. You signed off on documents at closing that said you promised to pay all of this money back. Mortgage companies don't loan money for free, they do it for profit. If you don't like to pay interest, next time pay cash.
What you are describing isn't predatory lending (check the definition on the hud or ftc website). It also isn't illegal, you signed documents agreeing to it.
All mortgage companies charge interest, this isn't something only done by Greentree.
