I was actually online trying to see if there was a place that I could pay my bill online when I found this site. WOW!!! I never knew there were so many of us out there.(After reading everything I'm not giving them access to my account to make a debit)

We bought our single wide mobile home new in 1996 in Salina, KS. We were young and first time buyers. We purchased the mobile at a supposed locked in interest rate (it was a little higher because we hadn't owned before) The day we took posession the dealer called and said he had lost some of the paperwork and we needed to resign it. We thought no problem, we were very excited.

Well, we signed the new paperwork and the next day called Greentree to let them know we took possesion and they told us what our interest rate was. NOT what we were supposed to have. That part was our fault I guess because we didn't pay attention to the paperwork the second time. Dumb and young! We tried to work something out with Green Tree on the interest rate but they absolutely refused to lower it. What were we supposed to do, tell them to come and get the mobile??? We needed a place to live and it had just been set up.

Through the years we have had some late payments and Green Tree would call all the time. We would try to make an arrangement with them and they would accept payment in full only, which only made the payment later. I even tried sending 1/2 a payment early one time so at least it wouldn't be completely late and they called and a man yelled at me saying they wouldn't accept it even though it was 1/2 early.

I saw on one complaint where the manager was Malia, she called us before and was very rude and would deny something she said the previous time she called, another time someone called and told my husband he needed to talk with me about my bill paying habits because we were going to be foreclosed on if we didn't pay right now.

I think the thing that made me the maddest was when a neighbor (and a lady that works at our small town bank) called me and said that someone from Greentree had called her and wanted to know another way they could get in touch with us because we were late on our payment. We had been out of town for a few days and apparently they had called and couldn't reach us. I was furious. I called Greentree and was told by someone there that when they couldn't reach us they did a canvass of our area to see who lived around us and then started contacting our neighbors.

I didn't think they could do this so I talked to a manager. When I told the manager this he said that the person who gave me that info. was incorrect that they hadn't called neighbors but that this person they called was on my account as someone they could call when they couldn't reach me. I informed him this person WAS NOT listed on my account as a contact and they better not ever do that again.

Recently I called to get a payoff on my account and was told that they couldn't do it over the phone and they would have to mail it. When I told them they gave it to me over the phone a few years ago they got rude and told me they didn't give it over the phone EVER and proceeded to ask me why I wanted the payoff, was I wanting to refinance, sell or what. I told them I didn't know what I wanted to do but I wanted the payoff.

They finally sent it but I don't think it was correct. I still need to look back through my original loan papers and check for myself especially after reading all of the negative things about this company. We haven't been late on a payment in a long, long time but I have noticed that none of my payments post until the 30th of the month. My payment is due on the 25th. Even when I send it really early and I know they have received it, it still doesn't post until after the payment date which I know makes a difference in how much applies to the principle.

I think GreenTree is out to make money any way they can and won't work with anyone under any circumstances. My siser-in-law had a double wide financed through GreenTree in Oklahoma. It was being foreclosed on and her parents tried to work a deal to take over the payments. They also had a loan with GreenTree that was in good standing. Greentree only cared about foreclosing and wouldn't work with them in trying to buy it. It was foreclosed on but GreenTree didn't send anyone to get it for 4 1/2 months. My father-in-law finally called and told them they better come and get it or he was going to start charging them rent for the land it was on (he owned this lot.)

When my in laws paid their mobile off they kept getting a bill for more and more money. When they told GreeTree they paid what the paper they were sent said was the payoff they were told it was a mistake and it was more. This happend 3 or 4 times until my mother-in-law finally told them she wasn't sending any more money and she was going to contact an attorney, funny how GreenTree didn't contact them anymore after that. I'm sure if they really owed more money Greentree wouldn't have left them alone.

How can a company get away with all of these things that everyone is complaining about and nothing happen to them??? Scary, Scary, Scary. Hopefully we will be able to pay our loan off soon and I will never have to deal with them again. There has got to be something that can be done about them, but what? They shouldn't be able to just change their name for awhile to get away with complaints!!!!
