We moved from Hawaii to Colorado, our move was delayed and that was not so bad. However when the items arrived in Colorado many things were broken and the boxes looked like no care was given. Most of our dished were shattered and leaking out the sides of boxes, I wrapped the boxes heavily in hard core tape and it would take a lot to do that. Our vacuum cleaner was very expensive and it looked like it was dropped from a great height, the base joint was shattered.

There is also a box missing with an engine for a 1963 Vespa and other parts that I need. I can get new parts but they won't be the originals and its about $1200 to replace that stuff. To prove major impact was sustained to the boxes, I had some stainless steel, heavy duty stuff in one box and they are dented big time. It would take major force to do that.

It isn't that a few items were broken, its that the whole of the items in the move look very badly handled and half the stuff is broken or well worn, it didn't leave Hawaii like that.  I just want it to be replaced and I haven't filed the claim yet but if they don't come through I will take this am post it anywhere I can and post it on craigslist in Hawaii as well, anywhere I can!

Guardian Moving & Storage - shady operation

AUTHOR: LoriT - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, October 06, 2011

Guardian Moving & Storage (aka Guardian Cargo Logistics, aka Guardian Moving Systems) is running a shady operation, and after finding numerous complaints by others online, I know that I am not alone in this conclusion. After many, many phone calls and persistent questions, I found out they are based out of Los Angeles only, although the company told me they have offices all over Hawaii. Their Web site also makes it look like they have a Hawaii department/office. I had requested a quote for shipping a piano from Oregon to Hawaii. Based on the quote and conversations I had with Brett Stone, a customer representative via email/phone, I hired Guardian Moving & Storage. Brett Stone told me they had offices all throughout Hawaii (I later found out that is not true). I did not sign a contract because Brett Stone told me that my emails and $100 credit card deposit secured the deal. Brett Stone told me via email that $1799 covered full service door-to-door padding and wrapping included. Brett Stone assured me via phone that there would be no surprise last-minute fees. However, at pick up, $250 was added. When I called customer service and was connected to the Dispatch department, I was told by a woman named Crystal that special crating had to be done since it was a piano (there was no crating; the piano was only wrapped with padding/cardboard/plastic wrap). I went back/forth with the company trying to get this removed since I was assured from the beginning that $1799 included everything for shipping the piano. One call included Crystal telling me that Brett Stone claimed he sent me a coupon, which was not true. The last conversation ended by being told very condescendingly by LJ Brown, another sales representative, that I should stop calling because this is a he said/she said and his colleague wouldn't have told me it was all inclusive. LJ Brown told me to forward him the email I received showing the $1799 all inclusive price and he or his supervisor would get back to me. I never received a call.

This company operates under several different names and addresses. Here are just a couple that I have been given, although I've seen others - very obvious with the same logo:
