Guitar Center Price matching not honored Internet

*Author of original report: GC Rebuttal

*General Comment: So...

Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

Guitar Center claims to beat any competitive price found on the Internet for identical merchandise.

I found a Furman AC Power Conditioner on Musician's Friend for $106.25.  The same item was on Guitar Center's website for $189.95.  I contacted them (webform on their site) to see if they would beat the price.  They replied back (email) and said that their policy wouldn't apply in this case because the item was temporarily out of stock at Musician's Friend.

This was NOT outlined anywhere on their website.  I feel that if there are restrictions or "strings attached" to their "offer", it should be plainly outlined on the website.  To do otherwise is simply false advertising.

As such, I would advise ANYONE needing musical or pro audio gear to avoid Guitar Center at all costs; after all, who knows what other hidden strings exist once you actually purchase something.

If you READ my complaint, I clearly stated that it was NOT indicated on the website regarding an out-of-stock policy!!  HOW is it highway robery when they CLAIM to beat an advertised price and I tried to take them up on the guarantee???  God, you truly are the stupid one!!  Me trying to rip them off by asking them to beat a price PER THEIR POLICY??  You must have voted for Obama to be this stupid.

Oh, by the way, I INDICATED that it was TEMPORARILY OUT OF STOCK!!!  It doesn't mean I can't order it, there's just a delay in getting the equipment.  AGAIN, READ my posting with a level of comprehension higher than that of a 2nd grader.  You internet bullies are all the same...'big man behind the keyboard" but you'll scream like a girl if you're confronted face to face!

Fake websites offering "free" or "lowball-priced" merchandise in order to make a legit site "price match" a "free" item??  That has to be THE stupidest concept I've ever heard of.  First and foremost, ALL of these big-name music equipment vendors will price match only from LEGITIMATE, KNOWN competitors which I provided.  Musician's Friend is a DIRECT competitor to GC, moron!  If I set up a fake website, there would be NO listing of my company on GC's list of known, direct competitors.  AGAIN, get your facts STRAIGHT and LEARN something about how these musical site work before opening your mouth.

SLANDER???  If that's what you truly believe, then GO AHEAD AND SUE ME you son of a b***h!  You must work for them otherwise you wouldn't even mention legal garbage.  It amazes ME how stupid people like YOU can be as well!!  Perhaps you should go back into your mother's basement until you're old enough to graduate high school!!  You obviously have NOTHING else to do but comb these sites looking for ways to rebut legitimate complaints.

So the issue is LESS about their price matching and MORE about you not knowing their policies. I can understand looking for a cheaper price, but that is pretty much highway robbery on YOUR part. What I fail to understand is why you didn't purchase the item on the website you found it. If indeed it was "out of stock" then the issue becomes that since it is out of stock YOU cant order it, which means that there is NO WAY to buy it. There for it wouldn't be covered under their price match policy. It always amazes how DUMB people like you truly are. There will ALWAYS be addendums and codices in ANY offer. Its to ensure situations like THIS don't happen. Lets me educate you a bit with a slightly different viewpoint. Now pay attention because YOU need to STOP your way of thinking. Lets say that Guitar Center price matches on ANY ad or website. Now all it would take to screw them over and put them closer to going out of business is someone putting a FREE website up and putting whatever price they wanted on whatever item they wanted. By having policies in place they can combat that type of fraud. The example I can give is this. Lets say YOU are tech savvy enough to setup a website and do as I suggested. Now, because Guitar Center is price Matching their competition, THEY honor the price YOU happen to pull up. Now YOU would have a relatively CHEAP way to STEAL from them. They are in business to make MONEY!! You know that stuff you need of you wish to make purchases. If they did not have policy in place to combat the different types of fraud, then they wouldn't be in business at all. So while YOU don't like the situation, it IS their right to deny ANY price matching because it IS their money that they are giving away by honoring ridiculous price matching requests. It is NOT illegal for them to deny a price match request. It IS illegal for YOU to slander them because they wouldn't honor your request. If YOU are THAT unhappy that they wouldn't honor a price match request on a item you COULD NOT buy then I suggest that you order it from the site that offered YOU the better deal. I would be suspicious of ANY site that is going to offer a roughly $200 items at roughly half the costs. Odds are that YOU will be shocked at the quality of the item you order from those other people. Remember...YOU are only looking at a picture of a item. YOU have not held it or examined it. This is the major problem of online shopping, YOU are putting too much faith in the people that YOU are making a order from online. YOU don't know if they are just going to take your money and run or if they are going to ship YOU the right item. Atleast Guitar Center has a reputation for quality merchandise, and excellent customer service. Even for those customers who are not musically inclined, Guitar Center has always been a great shopping experience for me.
