Now to the Report that was filed..

On June 20, 2008, I submitted $250 to Hargrave and Associates after a phone consultation to clean up my credit and a guarantee was made that my credit score would certainly increase with 4 to 6 months. I was told that my file should be completed as of December 2008. I also submitted an additional $100 for the credit card that was also supposed to be a tool in rebuilding my credit. It was suppose to be an usecured Mastercard with a $500 limit. I received the credit card and attempted to use it at Walmart. The card was declined. After several attempts, I returned home and attempted to call Hargrave and Associates and received no response. The phone rang one time and went "dead air" This went on for a month with no success. I also called the credit card company and was explained that this was not an unsecured card but a secured card and that I needed to apply an additional $559 dollars to the card in order to use it. The credit card company was "New Horizon". New Horizon suggested that after being swindled or misrepresented that I should call the Better Business Bureau. They also informed me that the only
way to get a refund would be through Hargrave and Associates.

Complaints should be addressed to the FTC prosecuting attorney.

They were shut down by the FTC for alleged violations of several laws: THE CREDIT REPAIR ORGANIZATIONS ACT, THE TELEMARKETING SALES RULE, and SECTION 5 OF THE FTC ACT. Civil Action No. 3:08-CV-1001-J-34JRK. FTC File No. 082 3007.

On October 23, 2008 the District Court ordered all assets and records of LATRESE & KEVIN ENTERPRISES INC.(DBA Hargrave & Associates Financial Solutions) into temporary receivership with Lewis B. Freeman appointed as temporary receiver for the court. There was a preliminary hearing scheduled for November 3, 2008, but the FTC has not yet posted the results of that hearing on the FTC website.

Note about refunds from FTC. Consumer customers of Hargrave may or may not get refunds from the FTC. In their complaint, the FTC did request the court to provide refunds to consumers from Hargrave assets. HOWEVER, the FTC also asked for reimbursment (from Hargrave assets) for the cost of bringing the lawsuit. Normally in such a case, if the assets are liquidated, the FTC and any commercial debt (such as banks, auto leases, etc) would be reimbursed before consumers. In this light, it is possible that some consumers may not get full refunds even if the FTC lawsuit prevails.
