I am a former employee of the House of Brides located in Glen Ellyn. I worked in the shipping and receiving department located in the back of the store. I also had the "pleasure" of working with the B's children. This entire family is shady and uncaring. They brag about scamming their customers and take joy when small businesses as far as IRELAND email them complaining that they are losing business thanks to HOB's website. No employee sticks around for long; there is no organization in the stock room what-so-ever and dresses get lost constantly due to the fact that paperwork containing the customers dress details and addresses is literally scattered in piles throughout the stock room.

Once a wedding date was on a Thursday, and one of the B's children (an older daughter, I believe her name was Elise? I can't remember) told me to ignore that order because the bride was "obviously lying". That daughter is particularly rude to the employees who aren't family (there's a lot of family working there...). Their seamstress will often switch sizing tags on dresses just to get more business for their adjustments department. She will also take the demo dresses from up front, steam out the "Demo" label, and sell them to brides claiming they are brand new. If you try getting a hold of them, good luck. We were put in charge of answering emails and phone calls, and were informed to NEVER transfer any line to a manager. If you call complaining about any issue, there was a generic email we had to copy and paste saying that they can get 10% off their next online order. ALL emails concerning a bride wanting her money back were to be immediately deleted or responding with that 10% off coupon spam.

Please, never order anything from this place. Go to a small bridal shop where they actually care about their customer's happiness and satisfaction. HOB makes so much money (all the children drive extremely nice cars and have everything designer) that they could care less about you and your big day.

The Buziecki's are so stupid.

There are so many disgruntled employees WHO QUIT working at House of Brides because they weren't willing to steal from consumers.  The Buziecki's are so sure that they know who is posting here on ROR and they are so wrong.  THERE ARE MULTIPLE PEOPLE POSTING HERE ABOUT THE BUZIECKI'S.

The Buziecki's are thieves and everybody who has had their money stolen from them knows it.  I am one ex employee that was smart enough to gather evidence of thievery and am more than willing to share it with anybody who wants to see it.  I've spoken with reporters about the Buziecki's criminal acts and shared my evidence.  What they do with it is not up to me.

The Buziecki's can keep trying to cover their tracks but it will never work.  ROR is not the the only site that there are multiple complaints on.  People from all over over the world are complaining about the Buziecki's thievery.

Anyway,  I'll be around if anybody wants to hear the truth about the Buziecki's.  I'm not going anywhere.

This is not the same employee you are speaking about. I worked in the shipping department at the Glen Ellyn location. Very soothing to see that there are other former employees out there who realized the atrocities this company conducts. How do you try to bail on donating prom dresses to a charity? How do you justify stealing people's money an ruining weddings? I now work for a wonderful family owned business that wouldn't dare perform the shady tactics that HOB thrives on. Disgruntled? Yes, at the time I was. I had no money and was left with no explanation of why I had been terminated (besides my hypothesis that Alisa didn't enjoy my liberal opinions when questioned about my stance on certain topics). In the end, I am now happily working amazing jobs at places I love (and have stayed with for over 5 years), and am going to school full time to fulfill my professional dreams.

Why I wrote this post was to warn customers. I tell all my bride-to-be friends to stay very far away from HOB. Opting for a seamstress found on Craigslist is a safer bet than buying anything from this sad excuse of a company.

House of Brides' Letter to Readers

Please be advised the author of the original post dated August 29th and the Update post dated August 30th is the same individual and a former disgruntled employee of House of Brides. The individuals intent is to harm House of Brides reputation by posting false and baseless claims about the company.
 
The former disgruntled employee worked as a Customer Service representative in the Website Department for just over 1 year. She answered phone calls and emails regarding general inquiries about the website. The individual did not have access to or knowledge of the Ordering Department or Customer Relations for the Website Department.
 
Additionally, the former employee did not work or have access to or knowledge of the Shipping Department, Accounting Department or any House of Brides salons.   
 
The former employee was dismissed nearly 5 years ago after displaying disruptive and inappropriate behavior to customers and fellow employees. Such behavior included providing incorrect and misleading information to customers, displaying aggressive and threatening behavior to employees and supervisors and violating company policies including, but not limited, to excessive absences and personal use of company property.
 
Management gave the former employee several warnings for the erratic behavior following customer and employee complaints. The employee was dismissed following a disruptive outburst after receiving said warning.
 
The former disgruntled employee has since posted fallacious and slanderous posts on this website. The posts dated August 29th and August 30th are categorically untrue and baseless. Again, the individual worked as a Customer Service representative in the Website Department answering general inquiries such as questions about a particular product or hours of operation. She did not work in, have access to or knowledge or the Ordering Department, Customer Relations, Shipping Department, Accounting Department or any House of Brides salons. Likewise, she did not work with or have interaction with any employee other that her direct supervisors and Customer Service representatives in the Website Department.
 
We assert this former employee intentions are malicious to House of Brides and all customers. Her statements are outlandish and false. Her statements reflect the same erratic and threatening behavior, which led to her dismissal from House of Brides. 
 
House of Brides has dressed brides and their wedding parties for 83 years. We have 10 Chicagoland salons and our E-Commerce website, houseofbrides.com selling to customers Worldwide. Millions of customers visit our salons and website for over 50,000 wedding and special event products.

Everything in this post is true. I didn't work in the shipping department but had to collaborate with them.  All of the scams listed are true. Brides are actually wearing used dresses without knowing it.

BTW, the daughters  name is Alisa Goss.  She's a real b***h.  A very angry and bitter woman like her mother Eva Buziecki.
