I bought a brand new Toyota Yaris 2010 on January 17 2011 with 30mi on it from Hudson Toyota. We had had a verbal agreement that i will pay $2500 by January 27 after I paid a $200 deposit. After I drove the car that day, I found out that the car radio system and panel weren't working, the airbag light was on which meant failure, and the ceiling light and speedometer blinked continuously. I called the sales person named Jack L. Stessler and explained this situation. He said that there wasn't enough time, so he told me to bring the car another day.

I parked the car in my driveway and left it there until January 27 and took it back after I called the sales manager named Mario Fernandez and told him that I didn't want the car anymore and I didn't have the $2500. He told me to bring the car. When I arrived there (driving in dangerous weather with the airbags not working because they weren't willing to pick it up with a towing truck), Mario Fernandez threatened saying that he would file a repossession form and that I had to sign it.

I denied it since I spoke earlier with Michael Dean, Business Manager(ext2040),and he said that there would be no repossession if I returned the car because there was no bill statement until March which was contradicted by Mario Fernandez, who was threatening to ruin my credit and asked me to leave the car keys and leave the place, and if I wanted the car back and not file a repossession, he wanted the money by Monday January 31. I don't want the car anymore because of the electrical problems and the way I was treated and threatened to ruin my credit.

may have signed contracts for a vehicle purchase and also paid a $200 deposit, but there may have been a verbal agreement regarding an additional amount of $2,500 that would be paid by January 27th, correct?

Theory: This Toyota dealership was desperate for a sale so they manipulated the customer into a deal that wasn't a complete deal after all. There are some dealerships that will allow customers to enter into deals where money will be collected at a later date. The hope is that the customer will 'fall in love' with the car and be able to come up with the additional money in a week, or two.

***This is to the author of the Ripoff Report: Please feel free to elaborate on everything that took place at this dealership when you went to buy the Toyota Yaris.

Questions: Did you sign any type of a contract? Did they give you copies? Did you pay them the $200 in cash? Did they give you a receipt for the $200 deposit? Were any contracts sent to a bank or a credit union? Were you forced to purchase insurance on the Yaris by anyone at the dealership?

Thank you.

Didn't you just file this same complaint a few days ago? And didn't we already debunk it by saying:

-It is not believable that you would buy a brand new car from a dealership with a payment plan, all without getting the deal in writing

-You have to give the dealer a chance to honor the warranty, which you didn't

-You can't just cancel the deal and return the car just because you suddenly don't like them
