We ordered HughesNet somewhere around January 23rd, 2018 with a promise that we would have High Speed and I could use service easily for my work which I explained work details to the sales associate. The sales associate told me I would have 20 days to decide if the service was going to preform the way I needed it to. Well after less than 10 days I decided that the download speeds were to slow and called to cancel the service and was toild that the sales associate should not have said anything about 20 daya that was not a HughesNet policy. But that what I had already paid which was about 150.00 would not be refunded but we could cancel service since it did not meet our needs and there would be no charge for contract payout. But she said if we chaose to downgrade then we could call back before 2/23/18 and downgrade service to keep. (No mention of charges etc") She gave me case #109153171.We called in on 2/16/18 asking to keep service but to downgrade to 10GB at the $49.99 per month charge. They said everything was fine we gave them a new debit card number to put on file for the 10GB service. No mention of any fee for downgrade etc. Case # for that call is 109594339. So I tried to use my service on 2/25/18 and there was no service so I called and was on hold for about 30 minutes and could not wait any longer.

I called back on 2/28/18 and was told my service had been deactivated. but that there was a 12.71 credit on my account. The tech reactivated my service again no mention of any charges or fees. That same afternoon of 2/28/18 I received the box in the mail to return the modem etc. I panicked and called back making sure I was not going to be charged for not sending the modem etc back. On that call  case # 109874464 I was informed that I had a bill for 140.00 plus on the account. I ask what the charge was for a a very nice tech stated it was a reinstatement fee.  I then flipped and stated a reinstatement fee for something that should never have been disconnected to begin with and I preceeded to give her case numbers that she looked up and said oh my how did all this happen.  She called over to Advanced billing and came back with ridiculous information that first I was placed on a business account for 140.00 plus dollars instead of a residential account for the $49.99 monthly and that all the advanced billing department would credit was around 50.00 dollars. I said that wasn't exceptable and was transferred to another department by that time I had been on the phone for well over an hour.

That person at first said that the charges were valid and they could do nothing to credit them I pitched a fit saying that they should never have been disconnected in the first place. He finally stated that to keep us as a customer he would remove the charges as a courtesy. I again flipped and stated as a courtesy I don't want the account to reflect that I want iut to reflect that someone in your company disconnected my service in error and then charged me a reinstatement fee. That needs to be documented as the reson for the credit. That rep hung up on me. I called back and waited on hold for 30 more minutes and hung up.I then called back today March 1st 2018 and was told the same thing that the charges were valid. I asked for a supervisor who was very condesending and stated the charges were for usage noit reinstatement a blatant outright lie. I told him the whole story which he kept saying charges still are valid. The name he cgave me was Raymond and Employee ID 003001 is what he gave me when I asked for it. I told him I was going to file a formal complaint.I don't want to just cancel the service at this point there is no telling what I will be charged that will go against my credit, because I will not pay a bill that I do not owe.
