I have been trying to find out what this charge on my monthly checking account statement is FOREVER!!! I stumbled upon this website and read the rip-off reports which led me to find the site that has been charging me. It's some "friends" site supposedly that has ALL of my financial and personal information and I don't even know what the site is and have never signed up for an account there!!!! And yet I am getting a charge from WPI*Friends every month on my checking account statement for a "VIP membership" to this site/club.... I am am outraged and cannot believe the nerve....so of course I went to the site and clicked "cancel my account". OF COURSE it asks you for your Login and Password to cancel (which I don't know because I never signed up) and if you FORGOT your Login and password you must enter your Credit Card information and Security Code to obtain it!!!! It's the same to cancel via email with this site!!!! Am I supposed to share even MORE financial information with this site, when they have already ripped me off ???? They also ask for ANY and ALL information about yourself you can provide to "better assure that your account is cancelled"....I wish i knew how they got this information and if it was through another "legitimate" website that sells this information so that I can warn others not to visit this site or whomever they're affiliated with!!!!!!

The information that Wendy provided enabled us to locate her iFriends account and cancel it. We have refunded all charges that were billed to her and have permanently blocked all of the information so that it can never again be used on our service. If she has any further questions or concerns, we encourage her to contact our Customer Care department directly at 1-800-243-9726. Representatives are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Wendy's account was created in August of last year. Although the basic iFriends membership is free, this specific account was created as a premium VIP membership, which does carry a monthly charge. This charge is clearly stated in advance, and the person who created the account affirmatively chose to upgrade to this VIP level of membership. The information entered (credit card number, security code, and address) was verified as accurate by Visa's charge processing services. We are aware of instances in which a person's credit card and other personal information are used without authorization to create an account on our service. Here, however, there is no indication that this occurred.

Each time that we sent a charge to Wendy's credit card, we included a toll-free number to contact our Customer Care department. This department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is devoted to answering questions, resolving issues, and ensuring 100% customer satisfaction with every transaction. Wendy indicates that she was asked for specific credit card information when she requested cancellation via email. Under our TRUSTe-certified privacy policies, we need to verify this information so that we can ensure that we are cancelling the correct account. We take our users' privacy very seriously and will not take any action to compromise or jeopardize it. We understand that some people may be uncomfortable with providing sensitive personal information over email, and for this reason we always provide a toll-free telephone number with every email that we send out, so that users who prefer to contact us directly can do so.

We do not buy, trade, sell, or acquire any personal information from any other service, website, or company. We do not obtain personal information such as credit card numbers, emails, addresses, etc. from anyone other than the cardholders themselves. The only way that a credit card will ever receive charges from us is if an actual person visits our service and chooses to input his or her personal information to create an account.

Our company has an exemplary 11-year-record with all of the leading consumer protection agencies, and we are best in class in our industry in the development of model online consumer best practices. Every one of our web services is verified by TRUSTe to be on its sealholder list of "the most trustworthy online businesses."
