INTELLIUS Internet Protect Monthly unauthorized debit to my credit card for $19.95. Seattle, Washington

Intellius is almost a ubiquitous name in information gathering service business.  Look up any name or phone number and you will likely get to their website offering personal information for sale.  They have an offer to sell you someone's phone number or identify a person by a phone number for 99 cents.  This is just a way for them to get your credit card number.  Don't be suckered into this scam.  After being charged the 99 cents you will see a charge for $19.95 on you credit card statement from them each month forever until you stop payment or change your credit card number.  BEWARE THEY ARE PROBABLY NOW USING DIFFERENT COMPANY NAMES TO DO THE SAME THING.

CHARGES TO YOUR CREDIT CARD If the charge was to your credit card (not debit card, check card, or checking account), contact the credit card company as soon as possible to request a dispute form. Consumers usually have a little longer to dispute fraudulent credit card charges (up to 6 months), but it is better to act right away. In this type of situation, credit card disputes are usually successful since fraudulent companies often won't contest the disputed charge.
