International Academy Of Design And Technology (IADT) The IADT run around, not worth my $5,000 or your $30,000 because my A.A isn't worth anything to them. Tampa Florida

I stared at IADT in January 2007 for only one quarter for Recording Arts. When I signed up for my classes I found out that I had to take math, ethics, creative writing, hummanities, and intro to audio. I argued it because I was one class away from receiving my A.A. degree in music and had already taken creative writing, Hummanities I and II, all of my math classes including Algebra, and an intro to audio class from St. Petersburg College (SPC). I was taking my last ethics class at SPC while attending my classes at IADT. I thought that my A.A. degree would count for something once I earned it.

When I asked them about taking the classes at SPC for $80/credit instead of $365/credit they said I could only transfer my credits once and I have already done that. I showed them where I have already taken my math, hummanities, writing, ect. They said that they use a different accreditation than SPC and the class numbers don't match the ones that I have, or they'd say "We teach it differently. The way you need to know it here..." In their proud voices you feel as if you now live in a bubble where only IADT laws and physics apply. "2+2=4 unless you attend IADT because they teach it differently."

I passed all three classes, Humanities I, Creative Writing, & Intro. To Audio while slacking off because I used my old papers & projects from my SPC days as much as I could.

After only one quarter I quit IADT and I'm going back for a B.A. in music education because they won't let me transfer new cheaper classes from SPC and they are making me take math classes again my next quarter. They wouldn't let me wait until I argued some more about having my A.A. because it doesn't mean anything here. The three classes that I had taken were no use to me for two reasons: everyone sees my SPC transcripts instead of anything from IADT and I didn't learn anything new there.

I only took three classes at IADT and I am $5,000 in debt. Thank God it is only $5,000 and not $30,000. I feel sorry for those of you who are and can't use your degree or get a job in its field.

Here is a list of a couple of other things that just annoyed me and I believe are wrong at IADT while I was there.

First, the loan process. I have recently learned alot about Salie Mae and how that is a ripoff too. If you pay $50/month but your monthly increase is so high it adds about $80/month so you are not paying anything off. You are better off with it on a credit card than with most school loan companies like Salie Mae. Your rate is never fixed it can change at anytime they wish. They wouldn't let me take anymore classes until I got a co-sign from my parents or paid the missing portion myself. My parents have refused only because none of us can afford it.

Second, IADT is based on the quarter and there were not a large optition of evening classes. I work durring the day unlike their everyday students who are not worried about their loans as much as they should.

Third, for fun, I asked for an IADT shirt at the store, paid $25 for it, and tried it on. It was too small and the buttons were backwards. They sold me a womens size and refused to exchange it even with a receipt. They said it was unsanitary.

If this was any other type of institution like Best Buy, Publix, or Bright House Cable they would have been stopped or be in the process of fighting it.

They are not in it for the education. They are in it for the money. If anyone says differently should let me use my A.A. degree, let me take classes at SPC and have them transfer as I take them, and let me pay alot less per credit. I don't see that comming. Please rebute and show me how well I spent my $5,000 if you can. As least let me know that IADT has read this. THX.
