Let's put it this way, I have real bad credit due to many reasons, however I needed a car. Now I have 3 repo's on my credit report one from 6 years ago, one from a loan I was a co-signer on and one 2 years ago for a POS car. I called JD Byrider and they informed me come down we will get you a car. I get there and I cant remember the man's name, he was short and mexican.

He sat me thru this whole spiel about how they are going to help me rebuild my credit and work out a budget with me and their dealership is not for everyone. Now mind you I was doing this to re-build my credit. I was able to finance a 2004 Lincoln LS 45,000 car in my business name but I was trying to rebuild my personal credit. After pulling my credit report and taking me in the office to talk to the budget guy, he sat me back down and made me give him 12,(yes you heard me) 12 references. After waiting there for three hours I was informed I had to get paperwork showing I was a cosigner on the other car and I needed 1500-2500 as a down payment.

Yeah right on their POS cars when I could go buy a used one cash for that amount. I told him and the budget dork "look see that Lincoln LS out there, that's worth more than all the cars on your lot and I pay for it." They didnt want to hear it, they probably though I stole it or something. After I told him no way in he!! I would give him that much money he proceeded to call me at home and at work badgering me to buy the car.

I told him never mind I went to the place that repod my car the year before and bought one within one hour and I have paid on time ever since and not had a problem. DONT GO TO JD BYRIDER UNLESS YOU LIKE GIVING YOUR MONEY AWAY FOR CRAP CARS, and like being treated like your an idiot and that you should be happy they are dealing with you. And if they read this and rebutt it, I could care less, look at all the complaints on your shady dealership

Hmm... they hounded you unnecessarily

AUTHOR: Charles - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 10, 2005

Well, it sounds like they hounded you unnecessarily. They really did not need to badger you as if you OWED them the money, that all is true.
The problem that I have with this complaint, personally, is: What did you expect? Look, I have never dealt with J.D. Byrider, I mean, I have looked at cars there and have walked away, not satasfied, but I have never bought a car from them. It sounds to me like you are angry because they wanted fifteen references and they wanted a down payment.

What did you expect from a car dealership? True, I'm sure you could have gotten a used car for that much privately, but come on, you CHOSE to go to a dealer!

Everyone needs to expect that the dealers are looking out for themselves. If you didn't have state government funding helping your tenants make their rent, do you think you'd be as easy to say: "Eviction? No problem. Also, I won't need a deposit" I highly doubt it. The truth is, the kind of housing that you own is very secure because the law is on YOUR side. Do you think it's wrong for companies to look out for their own investments?

I agree, many car dealerships will hound you, even after you tell them where to go. They should not do that, but it doesn't warrant treating them as if they are hardened criminals, does it?

I never thought of it that way. I told him where to shove his deal because it was not a deal.

I never did think of it that way. They had me so angry because of the way they treated me, when I left after sitting there for three hours getting grilled like I was wanted by the FBI I never opened my eyes. Michael Patrick is Full of Sh!!. He writes on here like he is a savior of people with bad credit. There is not an honest thing about him or JD Byrider. On top of it they kept calling me daily at work and on my cell phone bugging me for the 2500.00 for the down payment so "they could get the deal done". I told him where to shove his deal because it was not a deal. I make everyone aware of that dealership I have over 300 units ono my property with 1-6 people in each and I have contacts all over the city so rest assured I make it aware.

Jason, did they care about your budget or your cash??

AUTHOR: Kevin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 02, 2005

Jason, it sounds like as long as you came up with $2500 cash down payment they would have sold you a car at JD Byrider-regardless of your monthly "budget" that Michael Patrick talks about. You mentioned the deceptive advertising-financing for everyone. The Ohio Attorney General had a problem with this deception as well as advertising low down payments, and approving loans when customers couldn't "budget" for the monthly payment. JD Byrider was fined over $600,000 for these and many other deceptive business practices. They think that people are just begging to become a JD Byrider customer so they can be taken advantage of. Getting the word out is so important. Beware!

Michael Patrick Stop Lying!!! J. D. ByRider does set people up to fail. They don't want you to build your credit, They could care less if!

AUTHOR: Shawn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 01, 2005

People plase don't give into that BullSh*t that Micheal Patrick is saying. J. D. ByRider does set people up to fail. They don't want you to build your credit, They could care less if!

The true is they want to lock you into a contact. Examples; Why have consumers sign a Arbitration agreement? I'll tell you why, to keep you from going to court and being in front of a jury. Companies have consumers sign Arbitration agreement for the best interest of the company. If all of these claim on this website could go in front of a jury... THEIR WOULD BE NO J. D. BYRIDER!

If this company wanted their consumers to suceed why would J.D. BYRIDER/CNAC finance their cars 2 and 3 time over the book value? No other finance bank does this! Then on top of their over finance loan they charge a 24% interest rate- Thats higher then a bad credit card(21%).

If you can pay your paymant and hold up your end of the contract 9 times out of 10 JD don't hold up theres! For example they don't do the repairs under their so called warrenty if your car brakes down and etc.

So Michael Patrick you can F**k off! personally, how can you feel good about yourself at the end of the work day knowing you F**ked over so many consumers!

I thought you would respond - Your comments make no sense at all, and only prove more of what a nonsense dealership you really run.

AUTHOR: Jason - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 01, 2005

Your comments make no sense at all, and only prove more of what a nonsense dealership you really run.

You should be happy that I wanted to bring my business to your dealership, and I would also like to inform you that until your employees told me I needed 2500.00 down they were unaware of my LS.

I wanted a winter car and in the process I wanted someting decent and something to help me build my personal credit not my business credit, it is not up to you to decide how I do that or offfer any suggestions as I did not ask for such.

However if you do not guarantee financing for everyone maybee you should change your TV commericals as well as you signs. And tell you employess as well. I recieved the run around while I was at you dealership and treated as I should be happy you let me walk in the door, which is terriable for anyone.

I am a business owner as well as a property manager. The property I run is a Section 42 Low Income Housing Property I deal with people of all kinds of race, and incomes and I treat them all the same with respect. I too give them a second chance, I run into people who have had past evictions however I find out why and treat them like a human being, and just because they have a past eviction I do not put them in any less of an apartment then I would someone with a perfect rental history or charge them an out landish amount for deposit.

I make more then enough money to pay for the car I wanted, however treating me like an idiot was more important to your staff. Then getting hounded like I owed you the money like your were a bill collector was out of the question.

I have now went back to the place where I have had a repo, they ARE NOT a buy here pay here company and have had perfect payment history since and will continue to do so.

This site does not just point out complaints about your dealership, it points out what a scandelous, rip off shady company you run and how you treat people. I have since referred the dealership I bought my car from to my residents, and six of them have bought cars from there. I make sure they all know not to go to your dealership.

Jason - Good Luck With Your Credit!!

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 31, 2005

Jason - as you stated previously, you had problems with your personal credit and you came to JD Byrider to rebuild your personal credit.

JD Byrider is the nation's largest franchised used car sales operation, but it may not be for everyone. If you already have a vehicle - as you do in your case, Jason - and are looking to rebuild your credit, there are alternative ways to do this through other lending institutions.

But if you need a dependable, affordable vehicle, and your credit may need help too, then JD Byrider may be the place for you to accomplish two goals at once.

The truth is, there are many new and used car dealerships that simply refuse to finance people who have had credit problems. JD Byrider does not guarantee financing to anyone and everyone, we want our customers to succeed in paying off their loans so that they can rebuild their credit.

We do not set up customers to fail. The staff at the dealership who does the budgets for customers are a critical part because many buy-here, pay-here dealerships will not only let customers get in over their heads financially, but actually encourage them.

Either way, Jason, good luck with your personal finances and credit. We know that there are many people out there who still need assistance and don't have the capacity to fianance 2004 Lincolns, and we will try to help them get back on their feet.

As for this site, it has been extremely helpful in pinpointing and assisting customer issues. As always, please feel free to also contact our corporate office at 888.240.595!!

Jason, you made the right decision about JD Byrider!

AUTHOR: Kevin - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 30, 2005

Jason, consider yourself lucky for not doing business with these people. Check out the Attorneys General in Ohio, Kentucky, and Iowa just for starters-they are all pursuing JD Byrider for bad business practices and mistreating consumers. I am sure more will follow. Spread the word to your friends, etc. about these people-they have over 100 locations around the country.
