Joseph, Stevens & Associates Beware of Collection Agencies Ventura California

I, as a business owner, was contacted by Joseph, Stevens & Assoc. about collecting money owed to me. I told them from the beginning I was not going to pay to go to court. They harssed me over the phone, even threatened me with personal information they obtained such as addresses, telephone numbers, and names of my relatives. They even told me names of my husbands relatives. I told them to get lost.

Later in the day, they called and got my husband. They told him I said to go ahead with the credit card information to start doing collecting on our behalf. When my husband told me what happened I called them. I was told my card would not be charged unless I signed the authorization for charges and sent it back to them. I told them no way and let them also know that they were as dishonest as the people that didn't pay their bills. They charged my credit card $1200.00 without written authorization from me. Now they will not take my calls. They put me on hold then hang up on me.

I have filed a report with the Attorney General office in California, Attorney General in Missouri and the FBI. These people need to be stopped.

This company is so bad that the Chamber of Commerce in Ventura, California would not give me any information or discuss this company at all.
