Kevin Jewelers Management and sales staff are like the bad car sales people, there are good ones, but this is a good comparison for Kevin Jewelers, They are not out to help the customer, they are out to take whatever money they can, Lack Professionalism, Honesty, Diamond Quality is the worst and filled with carbon, dont let people tell you its ok and will have it, Buyer beware Northridge California

Kevin Jewelers is like dealing with bad car salesmen, they are out to get your money, all they can take, and sell you terrible quality diamonds filled with carbon.

Buyer beware that Kevin Jewlers seems to carry nothing of quality, the lowest grade diamonds, and a huge mark up where you are spending a fortune for junk.

We bought our first wedding rings almost ten years ago, with not much money we thought we were getting good diamonds because we started off small ----- NOPE...CARBON...and of course NO RETURNS, ONLY TRADE UPS

Now we will be celebrating a BIG anniversary and have been looking at rings at almost every jewelry store, even downtown, for ten months to make plans for our anniversary coming up in a few months.

We decided to trade in our original rings, seeing this was the same store, we thought this would help, NO, they said it wasnt worth it...that should tell you something, they know they sell JUNK.

They did however take a large diamond ring from my husband which was worth a lot of money and rip us off on the deal.

Now we went in two weeks ago to not trade in the rings since we knew they wouldnt take them, and of course they wouldnt, so we started over from scratch.

We bought a new engagement ring and band for me, small, but bigger than what I had and thought, well they have the good upgrade policy so we will upgrade a little later on, maybe even by our anniversary.

We bought the rings, of course had to still pay cash out even though I had a ring that I bought from them two years ago to trade in, they always want your cash.

We didnt have time to get the rings sized right away because the day after our purchase we had an event and I wanted to wear the rings. They put ring guards on them, which CAME OFF, so late the night before our event we were out searching for ring guards!!!!!

Fortunately WAL-MART sells ring guards and the pack comes in various sizes so it was fine for a day or two, but not for weeks. Thank goodness for WAL MART, they also sell earing backs and different things by their jewelry if you ever need extra backs or backs for earings that dangle and dont have any type of back with them.

So we decided to upgrade this past weekend, we thought we had a gorgous ring with large diamonds that I would be happy with for a very long time. They sized it incorrectly!!! The ring also has scratches and carbon in the 1kt center and side diamonds!!!! The ring looks grey half of the time and we didnt notice it before.

Note that they dont offer you the magnifier to look at the rings, they "lose" them and distract you so you cant see the diamonds. Believe me, if a jeweler does not hand you the small scope to look through or offer to let you look through their large scope...DONT BUY ANY RING OR ITEM from them, just a buyer beware....

After we were at another jewelers trying to find a decent price band, since Kevin's took TWICE the amount of money we wanted to spend on the ring. Oh, and did I mention they promised me a band to match with the price quoted after many different calcuations made by Arnold at the Northridge store.

Oh, and forget the Valencia store!!! they dont even do trade ups correctly. They wont give you the full trade in value and the sale that is going on, but Northridge does...hmmmmm

We ended up going back to Northridge Kevin Jewleelrs last night to either get our money back or replace the ring with the quality that it should be. We were told that for the quality we wanted we could never touch the price we paid and they can try to order a number of the same ring in the same color and clarity and perhaps the carbon would be less noticeable, but it will always be there, why?, BECAUSE THEY SELL CRAPPY DIAMONDS WITH THE LOWEST QUALITY AND ALL HAVE CARBON

We ended up discussing the situation with the salesperson, Arnold, and he was busy with another customer so we had to wait, and wait, and wait...then the girl in the office said that she could send us to the Kevin Jewlers in Topanga because the manager is there and he could really help us and make this work...

Well, that was a huge mistake. The manager was rude, unprofessional, kept repeating that we should be happy because we got a good deal for this ring!!! Like we are stupid. The conversations just went in circles over and over until my husband and I got so angry that we did yell at him and he even spoke back and offended both me and my husband and made innapropriate comments about my husband and me.

After going round and round and the MANAGER, suggesting we go to a smaller ring so we could get the band, we disagreed and said no, we were promised the band with the ring for the price quoted to us, we even had a paper from Arnold at the Northridge store showing all his changes.

The Manager does not know anything about customer service and management at all. Here we have purchased four different sets of rings from them because of their trade up policy and they have manipulated us and sold us poor quality producst and not kept any of the promises they have made.

The sizing of my ring is wrong, this manager at Topanga is the worst!!! he lied and said we were yelling at the girl at the Northridge store, that was so far from the truth. We just wanted to fix it, we were very, very calm and just asked what our options were, of course we were disappointed, but we wanted to see what they would do first, not realized that they would "get rid of us and suck a parana manager with no people skills" on us.

It was just their way of not dealing with us anymore and sending us away. We were in good spirits, not realizing and thinking , well good, he is a manager and we will use our whole night and go to the Topanga Kevin Jewelers and he can straighten it out and either give us all our money back or make it right and we could pick up my rings on Tuesday, today.

This is the farthest from the truth. Like I mentioned, the conversation went around and around. He insulted my husband, I was crying, and YES we did yell at him, the store was closed and they had the gates down but of course we are on their camera now. We would never do anything, we are Christians and we were just very hurt and angry and have been through so much to get these rings that this was the last straw.

I even apologized to him and said that we are just trying to get what we wanted for what we paid. He smerked the whole time, he laughed at us in the store and when we left, he called us liers and that he has worked with the salesman at Northridge for so long that it must be us. He also said that the girl in the office at Northridge said we were yelling there!!! Welll, there were witnesses there...and we NEVER yelled or even raised our voices at all!!!

This is so disturbing that it isnt even funny. So now I have a crap ring. This manager at Topanga said he would talke to the salesman at Northridge and see what he can do. I wont get a band to go with this ring, there wont be one with this poor of quality!!! they wont do it, they can do anything they want to do. They just sell junk that is all there is and they act like the bad salesman that sell cars. No offense to car salesman, we have had great ones and bad ones, it is just the only reference I can make at this point.

We are so hurt and disgusted and have no idea what will come of this. However, I will report this to the better business bureau, I would like it if there were many other people who joined in and we could file a class action suit against them for their lack of responsibility to the public.

This isnt just about merchandise, this is about people's love for each other, their committment, their time and investment of looking for rings, we spend NINE months looking at rings, NINE months, a lot of weekend full days and finally decided to stick with Kevin Jewelers because we wouldnt have to hand over so much cash in this terrible economy...

And, they took it anyway!!!!! They took it anyway and had the nerve to sell us crap and now we are going to have to spend time communicating with them for who knows how long.

All I know is that something is wrong with this and I pray that California creates a return policy mandatory for all jewelery stores, including Kevin Jewelers, where customers have at least thirty, sixty, ninety days to return merchandise for a FULL REFUND, not just an exchange or upgrade, but for the money they spent!!! I am going to write our congressman and senators and try and pass this bill.
