Knight transportation Columbus-dry division I initially had a bad taste but it improved! Nationwide Nationwide

 When I started orientation at knight transportation - columbus(July 2015) the process seemed a bit unorganized. They were trying to do physicals (off site) and road test at the same time, with only one person performing this which meant us being left standing around a bit. Not to terrible! On Thursday when we were getting trucks they basically had none! They did locate me one and it wasn't to bad. I am not one who thinks when u come into a company u deserve a new truck when others that have been with them a while are still driving one with 400,000 miles on it. Anyways, I got going and was getting decent miles, around 500 a day, usually one day loads at a time but still decent miles. They do alot of drop and hooks but that also keeps u looking for empties frequently. U ARE supposed to get paid for those miles to get an empty trailer. However, if u don't watch and make sure they add them to ur routing u probably won't get them! It's ur time and pay so speak up! Also, the planners are bad about putting that receivers are 24/7 when they are NOT! So, I have learnt to call ahead if I'm goin to b getting somewhere late that I may b questioning their hours. Yes, they are huge on tire pressure, and services but would u rather work for someone that doesn't care at all?! They are not, nor is any other company, able to control when a fellow driver leaves a trailer with a flat tire or a missing mud flap. They will get it fixed tho! In closing trucking is what it is! It's aggrevating, stressful, time consuming, and requires a lot of sacrifice. It's also an enjoyable way to make a decent living, without having someone breathing down ur neck! Knight and I had a bumpy start but it's smoothed out! I know have a brand new truck and for those saying u make no money here, I made just under $1200 this week and didn't kill myself doin it. My dm and I work together well. I don't get the longest loads but he keeps me busy! If u have driven very long at all u know by now that some drivers complain no matter what, and some may have had bad experiences at a particular company. To them I'm sorry as I have had my own also, and Knights not without faults but they work for me!
