I am describing what happened to me because the legal provider that Legal Shield has for Arizona is absolutely worthless. The lawyer is with a law firm in Tempe, AZ called Davis Miles, and he had promised me that he would help me with getting our car back, which was repossessed on 8/1/13. Then I get a call from this attorney on 8/5/13 (Monday), telling me that the finance company refused to discuss the matter with him and that I needed to handle the situation MYSELF! I couldn't believe it!! I was so shocked and dismayed that I quietly ended the call. He claimed that he had dealt with this auto finance company (Santander) before, and knew what to do. Those were nothing but complete fabrications!
So I decided to end my membership. I called Davis Miles to close out the case, basically telling them to tell the loser attorney THANKS FOR NOTHING, and then I called Legal Shield to cancel my membership. At least the Legal Shield people were rather sympathetic when I explained the situation to them, and they offerred to file a complaint on my behalf. I accepted the offer, but unsure if it will do any good.
I am hoping to get a refund for services that were NOT provided, in this matter. If I don't, it's okay, but I will never ever deal with this company or Davis Miles ever again. I have been screwed over too many times and don't know who to trust anymore. :(

I had a similar situation as far as receiving no attorney to go with me to court for a suit against me. Please note that I was a member of Pre-Paid Legal/Legal Shield for 15-20 years. I obtained this "Protection" for my wife and myself if we ever needed representation. Well that time has come and the response is roughly this, "If the Attorney feels that your case is not winable, Legal Shield does not have to help you! It is a stipulation in your contract!" Who knew? This is a tiny case. The Attorney offered us advice, over the phone, to help me defend myself. I suppose I should be happy with that. I'm lost!!! They are also sueing me for attorney fees and court costs. I'm really sunk and basically all alone. Thanks Legal Shield/Davis Miles. I may hire a lawyer that sues lawyers. I don't know what else to do. 15 years X 12 months X $26.00 = $4,500.00. That may cover my losses in court now and maybe the lawyer to sue Legal Shield/Davis Miles, but that doesn't help me in the future? Who can you trust anymore? All we want is the help, we thought, we were paying for. Nobody mentions this little clause when they are signing you up for this "Protection".

I think they would love it if you quit and went away. No Worries Mate. But I won't go away if I completely lose this case.
