....Louis Vuitton is known for their luxury items and their monogram LV. They are known for their high prices but they are not known for using cheap materials to craft their products. Years and years ago they used high quality materials and used wonderful craftsmanship for their products. 

I don't know if it is the economy or what but their products do not hold up like they once did.

Products made years ago could be resold, handed down to your children, or used for decades. Now you are lucky to get two years without a defect arising. You can't even hardly resale your products because they come apart, chip, etc.  

Louis Vuitton now uses zippers & hardware that chip away, stitching that comes apart, materials that crack, and then when their customers come back in with complaints of defects, Louis Vuitton tells the representatives to send them away and tell customers the problems are from "wear and tear".

When you purchase the products they tell you it will last forever.

A high end designer is not supposed to use cheap materials then label with prices that range from $100  for a little charm to well over $2000 for a purse. You pay for quality, service, and the name. Not just the name.

My sister in-law's shoulder bag that was meant for the shoulder began cracking heavily, 15 cracks. The rep informed us they were told to tell customers the cracking is from the deodorant and for customers to no longer use their "should bag" as a shoulder bag but as a handbag. Even though she doesn't wear deodorant it still caused the cracking. 

The gold zipper on my speedy and the other hardware began chipping away and there was a crack where the stitching was, I send it in for inspection because it is a defect.

An $800 bag should not have hardware that starts chipping after 2 years when I hardly use it. It should not start cracking when I hardly use it. Maybe a cheap

bag from Wal-Mart or Target that is made for a cheap price that is used every day, but not Louis Vuitton products or other high end luxury brands.

The lady argued with me telling me I use the bag a lot because the way it looks on the inside. I told her I spilled stuff on the inside. Look at the handle you can tell by the handles. Louis Vuitton purses have untreated leather that gets dark over time from the oils in our skin and the environment.

It was not very dark and what am I supposed to do with a purse put it on the shelf and look at it? I informed her of course I used it more than 20 times but that alone does not justify they supposed wear & tear you are claiming. The purse should last alot longer than that before that begins to happen. Actually, with the quality they claim it should not do it at all.

She said she would have the repair specialist look at it but he would tell me the same thing. Next thing I know I got my purse back the next morning by mail.  I don't even think he really inspected it since I got it back so quickly.

The lady did not pack it properly and used the same box I had already reused when she sent it back out. She removed the extra bubble wrap I had in the box and tissue paper. When it was delivered back it was raining and my purse received water spots which turned darker than the rest of the purse.

I called them back and spoke with the manager who did not one bit seem interested in my complaint. When I was telling her of my awful experience is was as though she was in a daze or paying attention to something else in the store. When I finished speaking it took her a few seconds to respond.

Then, she blamed the shipper and told me to make a claim. Nothing was done with the rude representative (I spoke with the first time and who argued about how often my purse was used), the damage my purse sustained, or the defective purse that was sold to me.

Beware when purchasing their products and avoid the Galleria store, they do not care about customer service! All they care about is selling products and making money.

When I purchase the purse I did not get any instruction on how to care for the untreated leather, i.e.; what to use, what not to use, etc., they did not give me a cover case to store my purse in, or explain the aging process of the purse.

Another purse I purchase online bows in on one side because the lining on the inside is not the same size as the purse. It is not big enough and pulls on the outside of the bag and has caused a crease to the leather from excessive bending.

Louis Vuitton used to take pride in their products but no longer does after the defects I have witnessed in my own products, careless store reps., and numerous complaints of what I mentioned. I have found numerous complaints on their products coming apart and how they do not warranty their high-end products.


If this is true then why do they crack, chip, fade, and unravel even after light careful use?

If they take so much pride into their products they should warranty them.
