I opened an account with Macy's in December. I made a call and asked when my payments were due, they told me no later than the 21st of each month. I went to the check/free website with Macys and paid on my account before the 21st of each month. I always paid more than the balance due to establish good credit. In May I paid my bill right on the 21st, well then I get my statement on line on the 28 saying that I was pass due on my account, and charged me a late fee of 29.00 dollars and lowered my limit to barley nothing. I called one of the call centers and noone could help me. I spoke to 4 different people and was on the phone for at least 45 minutes to accomplish nothing. They kept telling me that I paid late therefore I have to wait 6 months before they can give me back my credit limit. This is not my fault for someone giving me false information. They never told me the checks took 3 days to clear, I thought they were electronically ran through. They have at least 4 call centers and you never know who you are speaking too, they all pass the buck and noone helps you. I just feel like not paying them at all, regardless of what happens. They are rude and don't care about their customers, they are there to rip you off.

Ok, let's review. You said these three things in order...
A. "I made a call and asked when my payments were due, they told me no later than the 21st of each month".
B. "In May I paid my bill right on the 21st."
C. "They never told me the checks took 3 days to clear."
So basically, you knew when your payment was due (A), you admitted you drafted a check on the due date (B), and now you're crying that Macy's didn't have that check in their possession THE VERY SAME DAY YOU DRAFTED IT? (C)
Dude, seriously?
Been on Earth long?

If you paid on my Check free you must have read, or seen that the payments are scheduled to post at a future date. If you pay on check free & you are before the due date, but the posting date that check free gives you is after the due date it isn't rocket science to figure out that it is going to post after the due date. If you use quick pay instead, it will post with the date you actually do it as long as you do it before eastern time midnight. No one can help you, because you were negligent in your paying & we can't wave a magic wand over what happened & change your history. We also can't be responsible for customer incompetence in paying their bills.
Here is a hint. don't wait until the due date to pay your bills. Pay your bills a week or two before they are do & you won't have the problems you have. If you have financial trouble paying your bills on time, Macy's eliminates your open to buy so you can pay it down to where the payments are something you can afford.
Obama said it last week or so. He said Americans have to learn they this is not FREE money. If you can't spend responsibly, then the credit card companies stop your ability to spend.
