I am actually a happy user of MagicJack there is just one thing that is a problem. If they upgrade the software on it you will lose all of your contact info. This already happened once. you can save your contacts to a file but you will still have to manually re-enter them one at a time if this happens. I just lost all my contacts in my cell phone. It can happen. it is a pain in the butt. So I am writing this to get them off of their butt and have a written procedure of how you can save the addressbook file in their drive. I just spent an hour today on the chat line with them and did not get one. I have asked this question before and got some answers but it ultimately did not work. The file I save has only a few of the original names I have entered in.

they were probably just off for the holidays. Click on HELP on the MJ MENU Pulldown. That should work.

I have been a MagicJack customer for almost a year now. I have a cable internet connection and I'm very satisfied with the mechanical aspects of the service. "Customer Service" however leaves something to be desired.
I have just spent literally more than an hour going through their "Help" Q&As without finding any reference to my question AND every link or page I find that says "LIVE 24/7 Chat" just routes me back to the Q&A again. I have a lot of patience but it's pretty much gone now.
I read in this complaint (by Jim) that you were actually able to get a live person on a chat session? Please reply and explain how. Is there a special URL that you used?
The only issue that I can possibly think of to explain this current problem is that it is after 6pm (Eastern time) on the Friday before Christmas. But if that's the case, *good* customer service would mean when someone hits a link that says "LIVE 24/7 Chat", at the very least, a notice pops up saying to come back tomorrow 9-5 or whenever the chat will be staffed again.
In any case, my question stands: How did you manage to get through to a LIVE person????
