Avoid buying large blocks of time on Magic Jack The devices only last a year or two and they Will Not
transfer Your subscription time even though You have paid for a new device .
After wasting more of my life on the phone with them when they could have saved me a lot of time by just saying the older device dosent work with windows 8

My wife and I both owned original magicjacks. We were hesitant to upgrade because the website and maybe the FAQs state that credit for subscription time cannot be transfered when you upgrade. I was hesitant because I had bought a 5-year block.
My wife decided to upgrade to a PLUS so she could use it without the computer, and SURPRISE! When she activated the new device on the old account, all of her remaining time was added to the new 1-year subscription that came with the device.
I had the same positive experience yesterday when I upgraded to a new MagicJack PLUS 2013, and now have credit until 2020! It was not seamless, however. I don't remember the exact order, but I tried logging in to my account from both the website, and from the link in the MagicJack popup window. One did not let me log in, the other let me log in and gave me the option of requesting a new phone number for the new device, or swapping my old number to the new device.
My (two) experiences were the exact opposite of yours. And yes, the website (and customer service agents) say you cannot transfer old credit, but that was not my experience.
