I wrote a buyers contract for the sale of my 3 horses for Marie MacCormack on June 3rd 2012. She agreed to pay $500 down and $500/month until the total agreed purchase price of $4500 was met, @ which time the registration papers and would be transferred into her name.
Marie picked these animals up and transported them to her home in Maine in October of 2012. I received no payments all that winter and arranged to pick them up to have them returned home to me in March of 2012, but was not able to complete those plans, as Marie refused to allow the veteriniarian to do the health certificates on the horses, which was required by the transport company. She would not allow the vet to enter her property. She then agreed to pay 1/2 the original agreed amount per month until the balnce of the $4500 was met through my credit card terminal, that I use for my retail business. She also defaulted on this agreement. I, then became aquainted with another seller, who had sold her 2 additional horses, who had a large trailer. She was also not being paid for her horses by Marie MacCormack.
It was our plan to go to her farm and retrieve our animals as soon as the weather permitted. In January of 2014, the other seller's mare's foal died in Marie's custody. A report was filed for animal cruelty and the horses, my 3, her 2 remaining, and Marie's own 4, were confiscated and taken to a rescue facility. The investigation is ongoing, and myself and the other seller have provided the animal welfare department in Maine with legal proof of ownership, so, that hopefully, when the investigation is concluded, our horses will be returned to us.
It has come to our attention, that Marie MacCormack is now, even while this investigation is pending, is now back on the internet, looking for new victims, llike ourselves, from which to scam more horses. We would like to make sure that this does not happen again.

REGARDLESS OF WHATEVER WAS DONE OR NOT DONE, SAID OR NOT SAID, THE ISSUE IS THAT I WANT TO PAID FOR MY HORSES AND LISA LAYTON WANTS TO BE PAID FOR HER HORSES. THE HORSES WERE SOLD TO MARIE MACCORMACK AND SHE DID NOT PAY FOR THEM. THE CONTRACT FOR THE SALE OF MY HORSES WAS ISSUED IN JUNE OF 2012. LISA'S HORSES WERE DELIVERED TO MARIE IN OCTOBER OF 2013.

I would like to dispute the entie rebuttal report. The stallion in question had a 100% conception rate here on my farm. He has 16 foals on the ground. I instructed Marie to HAND BREED him, however, her idea of a breeding program is to turn the stallion out with the mares and hope for the best. This stallion was NEVER pasture bred. As to the NEUROLOGICAL DISEASE, the horse was boarded @ a friend's for several months, and was STARVED, he was 100% sound when he left here, so, wahtever happened after that, I could not say.
I ALSO SPOKE TO THE VET WHOSE EMPLOYEE EXAMINED MY HORSE, AND SHE AGREED THAT THE YOUNG VET, WHO HAD SINCE BEEN LET GO, HAD PROBABLY MISDIAGNOSED HIM D/T HIS STARVED CONDITION @ THE TIME. I PAID FOR THE COGGINS AND THE TOTAL PAID ON THE $4500 CONTRACT WAS $1421, I HAVE WRITTEN RECORDS OF THIS. I ALSO HAVE COPIES OF THE E-MAILS FROM MARIE MACCORMACK, 75 PAGES WORTH, I WAS AS KIND AND PATIENT AS ANYONE COULD POSSIBLY BE UNDER THE CIRCUMSTANCES, AND IN RETURN, RECEIVED NOTHING BUT PROMISES AND EXCUSES.
I DO NOT ABUSE ALCHOHOL AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO RETRIEVE MY ANIMALS AS SPECIFIED UNDER THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT. IF THAT HAD OCCURRED, THEY WOULD NOT CURRENTLY BE UNDER THE CARE OF THE ANIMAL WELFARE DEPARTMENT IN THE STATE OF MAINE, WHERE THEY ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE OR USEFUL TO ANYONE @ THE PRESENT TIME. I HAVE RAISED AND SOLD HORSES FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED A BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP, SUCH AS THIS, A VERY DISAPPOINTING END TO MY BREEDING CAREER.

Janet Lewis, Owner of Sunbridge Sadderly in Nunda NY sold me a Stallion that was not viable, and who was diagnosed with a nerological disease by my vet in Jan 2013 after extensive treatment he seemed to pull through although his ability to sire foals was still in question. The 2 Mares had been paid for and 800.00 on the Stallion, I paid for the coggins and transportation costs. Janet Lewis listed the horses separately on the Arabian Horse Association web site, I never signed a second contract after she violated her own contract. Janet Lewis continuously sent me threatening emails, degrading emails to which I responded cordually and respectfully. She appeared to be drunk and biligerant in all of them! All 3 Horses I purchased with the intent to add them to a breeding program. I was willing to give Janet back the Stallion but not the Mares so then she contacted Annebessecook Clinic and got Dr. Fey involved and contacted Animal Welfare with outrages complaints. I can not say more than this as there is a Federal Lawsuit pending. I did take care of my horses and provided them with nessesary shelter, food, water and vet care.
