Bought the washer for $1200 new in the summer of 2011. Within two months it made a very loud noise while in spin cycle and finally stopped working. It was repaired under warranty and worked fine for about 9 more months. It failed again in the summer of 2012. By now the 1 year warranty had just passed and again the bearing, tub and two part housing had failed. Same issue as before. Maytag refused to fix it and we paid in excess of $500 to "fix it right this time". It failed again last month (Sept 2013).
The repair person that checked this last time said they washers have this issue and now the tub is covered under an extended warranty but not the other parts needed and not labor. Cost to fix: $700.
I have called Maytag and am VERY dissapointed as they just do not care. This washer is made by whirlpool.
