Mercantile Adjustment Bureau, harassment Rochester New York

They have called me at work, at home, weekends after hours stating that I owe HSBC $20000 meanwhile, my car loan was only for $7000. Then they continued to harass me and told me may be I shouldn't have had children if I couldn't pay my bills. I was out of work and never received a penny from work, and was evicted because I couldn't pay my rent. They told me if I settle for $6000 I can walk away.

Meanwhile, I offered affordable monthly payments and they started cursing at me only to insult me more. Just the othe day I received a letter stating I owe them $16000 now. How can they keep changing the amount owed. Then they threaten to take 35% of my paycheck to pay their bill. Meanwhile, I've never even been taken to court for the amount owed.
