MCM claims that Midland Funding LLC has purchased my account from HSBC and that I owe them money. I haven't owed any money on this account since May. I varified it with HSBC and they have never even heard of Midland Credit management.

If you don't know this co. and have never done business with them DO NOT pay them anything . Don't take calls from them you have a chose not to do business with them. Answer their letter with a cease communication letter and a request for validation . That will most likely be the last you will hear from them . Your chances of being taken to court are less than 1% . If they are stupid enough to take you to court ask to see your original signed contract , all charge slips , all checks from you , and every statement ever sent to you . These are your rights . If they bought your debt from HSBC they created their own loss. But if you do like to send money to people you dont owe I will give you my name and address and you can send as much as you like .
