List of repairs completed in the first 3 months after purchasing the motorhome from MHS in Alvarado, Texas. The salesman, the service department and the owner all guaranteed everything worked on this motorhome and that it was serviced .

Replacing the inverter - $1,500.39 - Fixed at I-35RVS in Sanger, Texas

Replacing the bathroom floor due to a water leak at the Toilet. (VERY DISGUSTING) Replace bowl seal, replaced the wet stinking carpet in bathroom with tile, new floor seal and filter, replace and repair flex drain in slide at the kitchen sink (was not connected) total of $1014.06 to RV Doctor - Monticello, Florida.

Repair leaks in generator - onsite repair - drain OLD, OLD oil, buy new gasket, new oil filter, and fill with new oil - $384.33 - to Cory Schliffer at the Speedway in Lakeland, Florida for parts and labor.

Repair fresh water tank (4 HOLES IN IT), build a new frame for water tank to sit on because original floor rotted due to water leaks, connect windshield wipers, (there was no power to the wiper switch), repair passenger side rear jack (it was connected with one bolt and one ZIP TIE) - remounted with new bolts, etc. Repaired headlights that were forced straight downward due to a lot of NEW spray in foam. This cost us $1,694.83 to Brightside RV Center - New Smyrna Beach, Florida. (When we looked at the motorhome the first time - we were told it was winterized. When we decided to purchase this unit, we requested that they fill the fresh water tank. MHS conveniently forgot to do this, but they guaranteed everything worked)

Plus we had to spend 5 days at the Brightside RV Center while they worked on all of these problems and we missed a motorcycle rally (which is where we go to make a living) so we lost our vendor deposit of $500.00, plus we did not make any money which would have been between $3,000 - $5,000.

The total out of pocket expenses in repairs comes to $4,593.61
Plus the loss of our vendor deposit of $500.00
Plus the loss of $500.00 worth of shirts - due to the water leaks in the fresh water tank that flooded the storage areas.
Plus not making any money the week we spent at Brightside RV Center - $3,000.00

Total so far - $8,593.61

MHS did send us $2,000 for the replacement of the invertor and partial payment for the leaky without ever asking for invoices or anything. This indicates to me they knew there was problems with the unit.
Grand total $6,593.61 of lost money!

MHS response to my problems was that I was shown everything worked on the day I purchased the unit. However, this is a LIE!!! We were never shown anything that had to do with water - because there was no water available in fresh water tank since it was winterized. Our request was conveniently overlooked, but we were guaranteed that everything worked.

Other lies that MHS told us. we were told that the generator was an Onan generator which it is not. The generator is a Generac.

MHS told us they serviced the unit - however, the oil filter for the generator was not new, no gasket on the oil pan, and NO AIR FILTER AT ALL on the generator. One jack held on by a bolt and a zip tie - what kind of service is that?

I am very much aware that the coach is 8 year olds. That is why I have not complained about the leaky seals around the windows, the leaks around the slide out, the broken antenna handle, the broken drawer slides, the leaks around the shower stalls, the cruise control not working, the broken drawer in the kitchen, the refrigerator frosting over due to air leaks around the seals, the leaky ice maker, no freon for the air conditioning, the black holding tank not cleaned before we took possession, etc., etc.

In a letter from Mr. Brake (representative for MHS) he stated that they had possession of this coach for only 26 days. is he implying that they did not have time to service the coach as they should have? That is what I get from this statement. And if that is the case, MHSRV should have informed us that not all repairs and services were done that is necessary before selling a coach.

I have requested an amount of $4,000 out of the $6,593.61 of lost money due to repairs and loss of revenue! I will settle for $3,500 at this time.

MHS feels they have gone above and beyond trying to work with me and has offered $1,000 for all of the above mentioned problems (which I consider an insult). The loss of time, the inconvenience of having to stop in every other town to get something else fixed, the expenses, the frustration. all because MHS lied and misrepresented this coach from the beginning and is now too embarrassed to back their verbal guarantee that this was a great unit and we would have many years to enjoy it. It has not been an enjoyable time at all due to the above mentioned problems. And if MHS prides themselves at being honest in representing any coach and pointing out flaws on any new or pre-owned coach, they need a refresher course in servicing and checking out pre-owned coaches.

When I stated to Mr. Brake, that I was told this unit was serviced, he asked me what I thought that meant. I told him servicing a motorcoach, means going through everything, changing the oil, oil filters, air filters, fuel filters and fixing any problems found with the unit. (which is many other people's idea of servicing a unit - including other rv service repair places) Mr. Brake told me that is not what servicing a unit means. He stated that it meant they went through the coach and confirmed that everything worked.

I guess that means, since you could add water to the tank, it worked, it doesn't matter that it leaked all over the storage bays.

I guess that means, since the generator started, that is good enough - it doesn't matter that it leaked oil in several different places.

I guess that means the toilet worked, since you could flush it - even though it saturated the carpet and the wooden floor with everything that flushes down a toilet.

I guess that means the kitchen sink worked, the water drained - even though it drained out under the sink, onto the slide out and into the storage bays below the sink.

If this is MHS idea of servicing a used motorhome, then I feel sorry for the next buyers at MHS. They are in a world of trouble.

Now, I don't want MHS, nor Mr. Brake get me wrong, I do appreciate the $2,000 they sent in regards to the inverter. The fact of the matter is, the inverter ended up being the least of our problems. And that is what I want MHS to recognize and to pay for.
