I took my car in for inspection and an oil change. I was at the walmart next to mr. tire, so I called to see if they could take me in for the inspection relatively quickly. They said they had nobody there and they would be able to do the inspection right when I got there. It didn't even take me 5 minutes to get there, and once I did, three vehicles were there and two were on the lifts. They assured me they would get to my car quickly. I waited almost 2 hours before my car moved into their shop from where I parked it in the parking lot.

Once the inspection was finished, they failed it for 2 bulbs being out and for a leaky wheel cylinder. The man said the repairs and labor for these parts plus inspection and the oil change (which was a $29.99 special) would cost roughly $400. I told them I couldn't afford it and took it to my mechanic. All the parts for the job together cost under $25 ($5 for each light, and $11 for the wheel cylinder). The lights I changed myself, which took not even 5 minutes each light (and I'm a female with no mechanical experience). Once my mechanic looked at my wheel cylinder, he said there was no reason for it to fail because he didn't even find a leak, but since we bought the part, he put it in anyway.

I took my car back to Mr. Tire once the bulbs and wheel cylinder were replaced. The mechanic who did my first inspection wasn't there, and I took it back within a week and a half. So, they re-do the inspection with a different person and since I already paid for the inspection and stickers, they said they just needed to verify the parts were replaced and give me my inspection stickers. Well, they claimed that yet another wheel cylinder was leaking and said they would replace it and started listing off more ridiculous prices. I refused their labor and I am just taking the cost for the inspection and stickers as a loss and taking it somewhere else.

One of my mechanics was furious when hearing how much they wanted to charge for everything and said it was like paying $200 for a Happy Meal. Since this incident, I have heard nothing but bad rapport about the establishment and that they take advantage of people by charging outrageous prices for minimal work.
