Mr Anderson from myspace.com co-owner sent me an email stating that I won one million dollars from a draw they pulled on May 30, 2010. I didn't believe it until I got verification from Mr Anderson himself off of myspace.com web saying it was real (got email with picture to prove it was him) I then believe it and called my creditors to tell them I won a certain amount of money and that they will be paid before the end of Oct, fully, because I then believe him because he was on such a high profile being on tv and owning a social web site, who would lie? well he certainly did, from then on I did my own checking up on him, I found a free program called "spypig...tells you how many times an email was opened, date and time and what country opened it...got all 600 plus emails and how many times it was opened" and sent it with the emails I replied back to him and his goons in Nigeria. My emails I have sent have being opened NO less then 50 times (have all emails sent) I told Mr Anderson that this was a scam and did I ever have them scamberling around to find out how to get rid of me quick, then even sent me an email stating my winings were cancelled due to a breach but I sent one back and said I did not breach anything and then the emails poured in, letting me know how mch it was going to cost to send it by courier and more of the emails got opened. They even tried to hack into my computer but I changed the password a few times and sent all the emails to my other email address just in case they did get threw.

Good catch edgeman..

Yep..seems according to the link you left..this poster uses the term "supposedly" from Tom Anderson...then someone else accuses "Tom and his goons" again. Then that person is proven wrong, and has concluded as well...that Tom Anderson is not even with Myspce anymore, and thanks the person who posted the correct info, and praises myspace.
So, it seems, this OP is simply a drama queen..or looking to extort money from an innocent person or website that has nothing to do with the scam..and apparently she knows this d**n well. Makes me kind of sick actually, but not surprised.

Unplug your computer

You are not equipped with enough skepticism to survive the Internet.
"(got email with picture to prove it was him)"
If I sent you an email saying I was Barack Obama and included a picture of Barack Obama to prove it, would you believe it was an email from the president?
Didn't you find it odd that Myspace would be communicating to you from Nigeria?
Seriously, if after all this you are still convinced you're been communicating with MySpace, you are going to be picked clean by Internet scammers. Once these folks are done with you, they'll sell your name and info to other scammers, so don't be surprised if you win $2 million next week.

Over two weeks ago the OP acknowledged that she was contacted from a fake profile. I'm not sure why she is now writing about suing Tom Anderson.

I'm sure this was distressing but at least you didn't send them any money like a lot of people have. This has been going on for years but it must still be working or they woudn't still be doing it.

I doubt this had anything to do with myspace..

..or face book.
These Nigerian scams play off victims by using peoples greed, vulnerability, and "human nature"...and they are nothing but a con. It is very easy for them to cut and paste logos and pictures from legitimate websites and companies...and to send them in emails. They can also easily use links in these emails which will direct you to a fake counterfeit website, that can sometimes appear very legitimate.
So yes..someone tried to scam you and you should complain and expose this...but just make sure you are not accusing a legitimate person or website that in a sense is also a victim.
Not that the following info does any good..but you can not sue for depression, mental distress or anguish etc because you almost fell for a scam. You can try to press charges for false advertising..but good luck trying to prosecute some anonymous person or persons conducting fraud via email from Nigeria.
What you can and should do is keep all the evidence you have, contact myspace by entering the web address in the browser (do not use any links in an email...they are often bogus), and inform them what has happened so they can try to put a stop to it.

Why would you sue Tom?

I just don't understand why you want to sue Tom Anderson of MySpace. He didn't attempt to scam you. Somebody using his name tried to scam you.
You might want to read this:

I don't think that your case will see the inside of a courtroom though I have no doubt that you'll find a crooked attorney who would be happy to take your money.
