National Moving Express Total Sham - Furniture picked up but not delivered Ripoff Fort Lauderdale Florida

National Moving Express came to my home on 5/20/06 to pick-up belongings to be moved to our home in Brevard, NC. They insisted we pre-paid in full the amount of $4056.

We discussed at length that if they chose to ship by 18 wheel vehicle that the shipment would have to be transferred to a smaller truck in order to get up the mountain road in Brevard.

We were told to expect the shipment to arrive within 10 days, which would have been around May 31st. This date suited us fine as we had a 50th Birthday party planned for June 17th.

Here is where the nightmare begins. June 17th comes and goes and every few days they promise a new delivery date. Time and time again, no delivery and the furniture remains in a Florida warehouse.

On June 19th we get yet another delivery date of June 22 and a truck does arrive in Brevard that day. Unfortunately the driver is completely unaware of any arrangements to get the shipment up the mountain. He suggests WE find a truck to rent(at our expense) that he will transfer the shipment into.

I finally get James, the owner of National Moving Express on the phone and he says he needs to speak with the driver to rectify the situation. I advise him that my wife is with the driver and I will reach her to have them call back James.

That was the last communication as he never answered the phone and has yet to return any calls as of June 26.

My wife had to find a moving company in Brevard to come into town and transfer the shipment to their truck and deliver it to our home. She was fortunate to find someone local whom we paid $500 to finish the job that we paid National Moving Express to do.

They were paid in full in advance and never delivered my furniture as contracted. Total scam.
