I have been a web hosting customer for many years - a "Gold VIP" customer by their standards and nomenclature. I have repeatedly had numerous problems over the years I've just written off to incompetence and "big company" stuff.

Besides the left hand never knowing what the right hand is doing, I get conflicting advice and reports from each technical and customer support person I speak with. Now it's at an impasse. Our multiple websites are not even functional due to changes they've made in their servers, and they can't seem to correct that.

On top of that I get conflicting "finger pointing" excuses including to microsoft for dropping support of certain functions. Little do they know that I work with other hosting providers using exactly the same software where there is no issue whatsoever.

The problem is internal with Network Solutions regarding internal policy changes they blame on others on the outside, and the worst part is they lie through their teeth about it. On top of this, since I can't get them to make their servers work for us at all, I've tried to transfer the domain names elsewhere - AND THEY ARE TRYING TO BLOCK IT!!!

What I used to believe was simple incompetence I now believe is a systematic effort (not by the individual employees but by the management devising their systems) of fraudulent deception and practices. This is now reinforced by reviewing postings on this "ripoff report" website where my experiences are confirmed by others. These people need to be out of business

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Read your TOS/contract with them

Many times, they offer discounts on their services in exchange for you agreeing to use their hosting for a minimum amount of time - similar to the "free phones" many cell phone companies offer.

It seems to me that you're probably locked in to a minimum time period whereas you're obligated to use their hosting or pay a substantial "penalty" to "move" your websites to other servers. This is very common with them.

If what I suspect is true, until the contractual time period is completed, or you pay the "penalty fees," they are not going to allow your websites to be moved. Unfortunately, many folks agree to such arrangements without FULLY reading and comprehending the contractual requirements.

What does your contract with them state? Also, what does your contract state about refunds caused by temporary lack of service? You may be entitled to a pro-rated refund.
