Northcentral University , A Deceptive, manipulative so-called univ. located in, has taken advantage of yet another victim, thru trick and deception, lies and greed for money. Prescott, Arizona

I inquired about attending classes at Northcentral University, gave them too much information and unbeknownst to me, they created, out of the blue, a portal for me and even set up classes for me.  When I got wind of it, I called them and told them as an elderly 68 yr old Asthmatic with serious Asthma episodes, I was not  ready to attend classes at the specified time they had set up on their own.  They said fine, because you are wanting to withdraw before the deadline,  you are in a safe position and  will not be charged if you go into the portal and state that "I cannot attend classes at this time due to Asthma episodes and I did not want to attend until I heard back from the "Department of Education" whether I could get Financial Aid or not.  I have the emails to prove what I was told to do.  This conversation took place between October 2010 and January 2011.  All of a sudden, I began to get threatening emails from Northcentral stating that I owed the school $1300.  I never attended classes at Northcentral University, I was too sick and in and out of the hospital during this period.  In February 2011 I had Pneumonia and a very bad Asthma Attack, so bad i did not think I was going to make it!  I called Northcentral and talked to a lady there who told me I was not going to be charged for classes I did not take and that if i still wanted to attend school there, it should not be a problem.  She went on to say that she understood about my not wanting to start until I heard from the Dept of Education regarding a loan in which to be able to attend there.  That was at the beginning of June 2011.  Mid June I got a letter from some agency of Northcentral University stating that I am being sued for 1700.00  The amount has climbed.  I am 68 yrs old on a fixed income.  I feel my civil rights have been violated as well as my race, and age because they know me at Northcentral because my daughter is a PhD candidate there and they are giving her a hard time as well. I should not be charged for classes Northcentral University, jumped the gun and signed me up for when I told them I was not ready to attend any classes.   Please, anyone, what can I do?  (((REDACTED))) @gmail.com
